AO: The Maize | Sep. 27, 2018 | Temperature: 53 degrees
PAX: Placebo, Ethanol, Hard Time, Thunderhead, Crab Cakes, Dufresne, Borland, Waffle House, Welcome FNG: Evan White (Short Stack).
QIC: Wait Time
Wait Time welcomed the PAX and celebrated the kick-off of college basketball practices by acknowledging the leadership of legendary college basketball coach, John Wooden. The workout was designed around Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success. Coach Wooden believed that we must “Rethink the meaning of success and find a more simple approach to living a meaningful and fruitful life.”
Former UCLA players such as Bill Walton continue to reference the Pyramid of Success as they enter their seventh decade of life.
Waffle House brought his 2.0 – Evan (aka Short Stack), so Wait Time welcomed the FNG, covered the F3 Mission and did the disclaimer. With that, Wait Time recited the first principle of the Pyramid….a perfect principle to kick off a beatdown.
Industriousness: There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning.
The PAX moseyed to Warm-A-Rama.

Pyramid of Success
Friendship: comes from mutual esteem, respect and devotion. Like marriage it must not be taken for granted but requires joint effort. SECOND F!
Loyalty: to yourself and to all those depending upon you. Keep your self respect. No Fartsacking!
Cooperation: with all levels of your co-workers. Listen if you want to be heard. Be interested in finding the best way, not having your own way.
Enthusiasm: brushes off upon those with whom you come into contact. You must truly enjoy what you are doing. Also known as the “TC Factor.”
Self-Control: Practice self-discipline and keep emotions under control. Good judgment and common sense are essential.
THANG: BUILDING BLOCKS for the PYRAMID OF SUCCESS
The PAX moseyed to the bottom of the hill, and discovered a pyramid of cinder blocks. The group partnered up for a GRINDER. Partner A ran up the hill while Partner B completed the exercise. When A finished the run the pair flapjacked.

Alertness: Be observing constantly. Stay open-minded. Be eager to learn and improve. (Keep an eye on the Six)
Initiative: Cultivate the ability to make decisions and think alone. Do not be afraid of failure, but learn from it. (Step up and lead!)
Wait Time called Omaha, and the group moseyed back to the shovel flag. PAX ran about 2.3 miles during the workout.
6MOM:
Intentness: Set a realistic goal. Concentrate on its achievement by resisting all temptations and being determined and persistent. Set goals and get better!
Condition: Mental-Moral-Physical. Rest, exercise and diet must be considered. Moderation must be practiced. Dissipation must be eliminated.
Skill: A knowledge of and the ability to properly and quickly execute the fundamentals. Be prepared and cover every little detail. Great advice for Qs.

Poise: Just being yourself. Being at ease in any situation. Never fighting yourself.
Confidence: Respect without fear. May come from being prepared and keeping all things in proper perspective.
Competitive Greatness: Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a difficult challenge.
COT/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ethanol referenced “Alertness” and encouraged the PAX to pay attention to the people around you. Ethanol encountered a co-worker facing some very difficult personal problems within her family and her health. By simply listening, you can make a difference in someone’s life.
Wait Time reminded the PAX about the “Fund-raiser for Jakson.” The family is raising money for a handicap accessible van. Roll Bar is running point on the F3 contribution to this fund-raiser.
Lastly, Wait Time acknowledged Coach Wooden, who’s leadership went beyond his 10 national titles. Coach Wooden was a devoted husband and had a tremendous impact on the UCLA players. Coach Wooden said, “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are. Your reputation is what others say you are.”
Finally, Coach Wooden said, “Make each day your masterpiece.”
Aye,
Wait Time
