5:30 am I rolled in about 4:35a, popped out and got in ½ a mile before the Smurph
After we got done with the Smurph I grabbed my phone and kicked us off.
On to the beatdown. I welcomed the Pax to F3 – and explained it is Fitness, Fellowship and Faith – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. And that is what we had today and I was excited to lead. I was also excited to meet Goose, who I had not yet met.
I covered the 5 core principles of F3. 1) Open to ALL men. 2. Always Free. 3) Always held outdoors, 4) Lead in a rotating fashion and 5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT) and Grease Fire counted them out.
There was one FNG today, Ben. Eurkel came down south….good stuff.
I covered the Credo: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him. That means acceleration physically but also actually picking up the six as we move from place to place. And we would live the credo out today. Let’s mosey.
5:32 am Warm-a-rama
We ran around the school and playground and met the Murph Pax running up Lincoln. We then stopped in the Parking Lot to the lake. We did:
- 12 Tappy Clocks IC – Hit each hour in a circle
- 10 Windmills IC
- 10 Toy Soldiers IC
- Combo – 5 SSHs IC, 5 Knee Ups, Caterpillar Crawl down to Plank, 5 Mountain Climbers IC, 5 Merkins, 5 Mountain Climbers, Caterpillar Crawl back up, 5 Knee ups, 5 SSHs
- Rinse and repeat series a second time
5:40 am Pre Thang: Entrance
We ran across the street and did:
- 2 One-Legged Burpees, Bernie Up the Hill, 2 One-Legged Burpees, run back down – AMRAP
5:48 am The Thang: Roll The Dice
We ran into the neighbor hood and into the first circle.
First Roll – 30 SSHs
Second Roll – 25 Dips, we did them on the curb
Third Roll – 30 SSHs Again!
Fourth Roll – 20 Mountain Climbers IC
Then we ran south and up the hill to the other exit, I wanted to go down the other circle, but our FNG was struggling and so we just stopped at the entrance and circled up.
First Roll – 30 SSHs!!!! Unreal
Second Roll – 25 Merkins
Third Roll – (I gave it to Ben, our FNG) – 25 Freddie Mercuries – and I explained the cadence to him and he crushed it! He was great at counting.
After that we ran back to the flag.
6:05 am 6MOM
We circled up and Planked. I started with a 10 count and then 2 more pax did as well. The next guy did 3 Merkins, then three guys did 10 seconds on Chilcut planks. Then 3 Merkins, 3 more 10 second counts on regular planks, 3 Merkins and the last guy did 10 seconds of Side Planks. Well Executed.
We then did 13 Sarpy Slammers

It was a good workout today. Guys pushed. Any day with an FNG is great. I spoke about Advent – which means “To Prepare” – I am a Christian, A Catholic and in Advent we are preparing for the Savior of the World, God’s only son to be born into the world as a human.
But often we prepare for Christmas about presents and parties and forget to focus on the real thing.
I asked the Pax what are they preparing for? A new job, a new house, asking to get married, saving for retirement, maybe a race, losing wait, or maybe its Christmas. Whatever it is, examine if your are preparing the right way!
