COT: “What is something that exists in your life now that you would have never imagined was possible before F3?”
Roll Bar. When I came to F3 I was in the beginning stages of getting healthy. Only a handful of months before, I was in the hospital with a possible heart attack, I was overweight, and rounding the corner to my 40th birthday. I had never really been much of a gym or fitness guy, and the few times I did find the motivation to get in shape, it didn’t last long.
F3 has created a consistency that I’ve never had before, here we are 5 years later and I’m fitter now than ever before, I wouldn’t have lasted 5 months before. The brotherhood and support of F3 has created a whole new me, one that’s fitter, more disciplined, and mentally tougher than ever before.
The Tonight Show
Wait Time. Before F3, I was a lone wolf. I worked out alone. I never realized that I needed to be among men in a work out group. When I was EH’d in Greensboro, I was rehabbing a foot injury and was swimming at Green Valley Pool. I hated fucking swimming. It was like running on a treadmill in water. God helped Tommy Boy and Houlihan rescue me from swimming laps. A few years ago, I was preparing for a podcast interview about F3, so I read some old journals. I have been a prolific journal writer for my entire life. I read an old journal from the period of my life when I started F3. I read an entry that I made a few weeks before I started F3, and the entire entry was about loneliness and how much I needed friends. I wasn’t happy in Greensboro because I had no relationships outside of work. I never believed that I was lonely. I never believed that I could have hundreds of friends who feel like my family. I am so grateful for F3 and fellowship that I have with all the men I share the gloom with every morning.
Tonight Show ended the workout by leading a prayer.
Grace & Peace,
Roll Bar, Tonight Show and Wait Time.
