QIC: Wait Time
YHC greeted the PAX on a beautiful June morning at the Maize. We gathered to celebrate the fifth anniversary of this OG site – F3Omaha’s third shovel flag location. We recognized our former site Qs in attendance – Hard Hat, Sasquash, and Barn Door. We shared appreciation for our founding Site Q, Ethanol and our current Site Q, Obi-Wan (who was traveling today). Today’s workout will celebrate the space that makes The Maize unique. We reviewed the Mission Statement, five principles and the disclaimer (including “for the next 45 minutes, I am not your friend.”) The PAX moseyed to the new playground, which did not exist when we planted the flag.
WARM-A-RAMA: Broga at the Playground.
When we started the Maize, we often used the football field. In the early days, the football field was a mosquito infested swamp. It took so little water to flood the field, that often the sprinklers caused water to be standing in parts of the field.

PAX moseyed to the bowl for the Pre-Thang.
PRE-THANG: HOWDY PARTNER!
The PAX circled up in the bowl. This area of the AO is precious real estate in the winter. It is the only space that provides some relief from the cold January winds at the Maize. During the first year at the Maize, we spend a tremendous amount of time in the bowl.
YHC commanded the PAX to find a partner for the reminder of the workout. We started with some partner exercises:
Partner 1: Big Boy Sit-ups x 15
Partner 2: Plank
[Flap Jack]
Clock Merkins: 12 o’clock x 8 | 3 o’clock x 8 | 6 o’clock x 8 | 9 o’clock x 8 | 12 o’clock x 8 | 3 o’clock x 8 | 6 o’clock x 8 | 9 o’clock x 8
PAX moseyed up the hill to the street.
Partner Wheelbarrow x 30 yards [Flap Jack]
Partner Push x 30 yards [Flap Jack]
PAX moseyed to the walking trail leading to the lake.
THE THANG: Droppin‘ Bombs at Sunrise
PAX completed a two-man BOMBS grinder. Partner 1 ran to the lake, while partner 2 started the cumulative BOMBS exercises. [FLAP JACK]
BOMBS:
Burpees x 50
Overhead Claps x 100
Merkins x 150
Big Boy Sit-ups x 200
Squats x 250
Group was unable to finish the entire workout when “OMAHA!” was called. We moseyed to the shovel flag.

COT: NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST
When I am preparing a COT, I sometimes go through old journals. I’ve been a life-long journal writer. When I was going through my journals, I found one that I used in 2016, and the cover read, “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.” The QSource discussion this week focused on Influence. How do we use our leadership to create movement in other men? I participated in two discussion on Influence this week. The PAX spent a lot of time focused on how we EH men to F3. I asked the PAX to think about a man that they have tried to EH, but he has not accepted the invitation that we offer. Maybe this person lives in the neighborhood adjoining the Maize!
I hope that we do give up on these men. We cannot become discouraged because our efforts to influence this man have not yielded the outcome that we hope to achieve. I encourage the PAX to move closer to that guy. Don’t be a F3 knucklehead who causes non-F3 guys to walk in the opposite direction when they see you. People don’t always understand what we do. Move closer to the guy. Be curious. Try to understand who he is and what is important to him. Be willing to go workout with the guy before he posts. Invest in him.
And be prepared to accept that he will not join F3 when you want him to join. We all make choices. We can wield positive influence, but we cannot control how people make choices. If you continue to be a positive influence on a Sad Clown’s life, then he may eventually accept your invitation to join F3. And he may not. Your investment and positive influence will have an impact whether he joins or not. Just remember “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.”
Grace & Peace,
Wait Time
