YHC pulled into the AO at 0415, to find Bouncer doing what Bouncer does and getting in a little extra, with a pre-pre-run. It was a quick setup…4 cones, strategically placing the speaker for the Thang and then back to the truck to get ready for the pre-run group. The grass was noticeably more damp than I ancitipcated. A solid prerun crew formed just before 0435.

YHC welcomed the PAX at 0515 recited the 3F’s, mission statement, five core principals, and disclaimer. Welcomed the FNG (Ben).

In typical Pantyhose fashion, he started with a quote, a teaser to the COT, from The Daily Coach:

“People know you for what you’ve done, not for what you plan to do.”

Warm-a-rama

·         Tappy Taps x 15 IC

·         Big Ones

·         Chinooks x 10 forward/10 reverse

·         Windmills x 10 IC

Pre-Thang

PAX moseyed to the base of the berm and partnered up. Partner A would run the berm twice, while Partner B performed AMRAP exercises at the bottom. Then switch. Three rounds

·         Plank

·         Plank Jacks

·         Alt. Shoulder Taps

Mosey up to the soccer field for the Thang

The Thang

7 of diamonds modified.

PAX would stay in one group today…just one of those days. Instead of a diamond shape with the cones, YHC placed the cones in a line about 15 yards apart. PAX would line up, perform exercise at first cone, then lunge (about 10-15 lunge steps) to cone 2, repeat the exercise, lunge to cone 3, repeat the exercise, lunge to cone 4 for one last round and then mosey back to the first cone. Exercises below.

·         Burpees x 7

·         Flutter Kicks x 14 IC

·         Merkins x 21

·         Air Squats x 28

·         Cherry Pickers x 21 IC

·         LBCs x 14 IC

·         Groiners x 7

The Thang went off the rails early…Doing a 7 of diamonds exercise with cones in a linear pattern did cause some confusion. The PAX was able to correct and get back on track. Omaha was called at 0558, back to the flags for Mary.

“People know you for what you’ve done, not for what you plan to do.”

To me, the quote is really about accountability….being accountable for yourself and also holding others accountable.

I think about accountability at home, with my family, at work. Holding others accountable can be tough for some, because often it involves conflict. If someone isn’t doing their job or fulfilling a commitment, calling them on it can result in conflict….it can awkward, for some it’s not. I know my wife is not at all afraid to call my bullshit out…and in the moment, it pisses me off…but usually, after I’ve had some time to reflect…95% of the time she’s right.

In all honesty, what got me thinking about this was something that happened at a beatdown about 2 weeks ago…at the launch for Bunz Town. We were doing some hill work and I was coasting a little…I wasn’t giving it 100%. And all of the sudden I heard someone say, “Pantyhose? You cashing it in or what?”. It caught me a little by surprise…I looked up at it was Tater Tot. He called me out! And he was 100% right…I was F’n coasting. I wasn’t giving it my all and I really had no excuse…none at all.

Let’s not forget why we’re out here…yes, a large part of this is fellowship and it’s like therapy for many of us. And I know from time to time we get banged up and need to take it easy. But if not for that, then make sure to push yourself and push those around you to give your all, all the time.

Those of us that have been around F3 for awhile know what’s coming…you can kind of feel it in the air this morning…winter will be here before too long and I know I’m going to need you to hold me accountable from time to time.

So today, this week, the rest of the month…take a look in the mirror to make sure you’re holding yourself accountable and together, let’s make sure we’re holding each other accountable.

Birdman took us out in prayer.

Aye!
