Mt Olympus- May 10th 2023
Pre-Runners: Fun Dip, Double Dip, Stranglehold Ruckers/ EMOM Merkins: G-String and Tenacious D QIC: Shingles
Started promptly at 5:15am welcoming PAX and going over 5 core principles. Admittedly, I was struggling remembering a few of them. Thanks to G String for helping bail me out there. Was able to give disclaimer, Mission, and Creedo without missing a beat.
We then grabbed our coupons and headed to the West parking lot. On the way there, we got a little bit about the Benjamins goin’

  • 25 lunges and then 25 curls.
  • 25 more lunges and then 25 squats – 25 lunges and a 25 count wall sit
  • 25 lunges and 25 overhead press
Proceed to mosey remainder of distance to grassy islands in West parking lot 2 Team Relay Race:
Pax divided into two teams. We made sure the Dip Bros were on different teams of course, because then we know the competition level starts rising.
Both teams would go through list of exercises. Once completed through entire list, one Pax from team would carry either a larger Cinderblock (one of the 50 lb 4 ladies IYKYK) or one of the new 82 lb Fun blocks (really just landscaping blocks). Each Team had two of each type to move North to another island in the parking lot (approx 125 ft).
    Exercises were:
    RCPs – 10 IC

    Sumo Deadlift – 15 reps
    Mountain Climbers – 15 IC
Atlas Shrugs (Johnny Drama’s with block on shoulder) – 10 IC (5 each shoulder with block) Floor Press – 15 Reps
    Squats – 20 reps
    Skull Crushers – 10 reps
Lunges w/ blocks on shoulders – 20 reps (10 each leg)
We made it through a full round, and was just about to have the blocks come back when it was time to call Omaha. Moseyed back to flag and did a round of Sarpy Slammers.

COT: I recently was part of a Mens retreat at my church, and we were discussing Faith, Hope and Love. During the discussion time for love, I was sitting and talking with some guys and just reminded about the misconceptions that love is some big emotional hoopla like in Disney movies. Its more of a conscience decision and a commitment to another person. The big take away for me was the reminder that Love is sacrificial, without looking for anything in return.
I challenge you to look at all your relationships, and see where you are actively loving people without expecting anything from them, whether it be a good feeling or some act of service. Especially coming up with Mother’s Day this weekend with our Ms and Moms.
    AYE.
