Yale Park Family Donations Needed
In September, over 500 refugees from Burma were removed from the Yale Park Apartment complex in Omaha due to code violations found by city inspectors. Â City inspectors found the residents to be living in deplorable conditions including bed bugs, gas leaks, unsafe electrical wiring and mice. Â The city in cooperation with several social service agencies has been working to move the 98 families to safer living conditions in Omaha. Â A non-profit organization called “Restoring Dignity” is coordinating efforts.
F3Omaha wishes to support these efforts. Â This Saturday, November 17, PAX can bring items to The Oracle and support these families. Â Reba dtcoe3151@gmail.com is leading this initiative in cooperation with Dundee Presbyterian Church. Â Donation items are listed below.
