QIC: Scoober, Oompa

Scoober welcomed the PAX to F3 Omaha at 5:30AM at the shovel flags. The Mission Statement, Disclaimer, 5 Core Principles, and modified motto, “leave no man behind and leave no man where you found him”, were given. An inquiry about FNGs was made, and we had one in attendance.  Welcome Jar-Jar!

Scoober led the PAX to the north end of the parking lot between the football and baseball fields (a short distance, for the sake of us who are hobbled).

Scoober started up some tunes and told the pax that the first HIM to identify the theme of the playlist would get their coffee free.

Oompa instructed the PAX to stay in the circle area for Mary

Mary

Ooompa called on the PAX to pick 15 of their favorite Mary exercises and called on Safe Ride, Tin Cup, and Super Tasty.

Name-o-Rama

Scoober asked the FNG to step into the circle.  He explained that he is a veteran on the Marine Corps.  Dopper noted that he not only was a jarhead, but was wearing shorts with the word “Mason” on the side.  A jar-themed name was in the works, and Scoober came up with the dynamite “Jar-Jar”, and the name stuck.

Announcements and Prayers

Announcements regarding Brick Builder ‘22 were made.  Doppler noted that Jeeves would be on Q at Top Rope on 5/18 and encouraged the PAX to come out.  Patton asked for continued prayers for his friend Christian, a former SEAL who is undergoing cancer treatment.

COT

Scoober told the likely fictional story of the boy who was born without a left arm,  who really wanted to learn martial arts. Once he found a sensei who would work with him despite his limitations, he was taught a single move.  His sensei forced him to work on the same move for weeks before his first tournament.  At his first tournament, he won 1st place.  Upon asking his sensei how he was able to win with such a limited repertoire of moves, he was told that he has been mastering the only move for which the only counter is to grab your opponents left arm.

This was a fitting story for the day as both Q’s are currently one limb down.  Scoober then reminded the PAX to focus, not on their limitations, but on their capabilities..
