The Canyon

Conditions: Clear and very pleasant

PAX: Beaver, Rancid, Hipster, Cyclone, TC and Hei Hei

QIC – Hei Hei

Hei Hei welcomed 6 PAX to the Canyon. Went throughcore values, mission statement, credo… forgot to mention he wasn’t a professional. Hopefully no one was confused.

Thang:

All PAX moseyed to the pedestrian bridge, stopping in roughly ¼-mile increments to perform burpees (target of 10; modify, as necessary). The route was disjointed, as Hei Hei failed to account for the riverfront construction when looking at Google maps, but Canyon regulars helped lead the way.

Upon return to Gen Leahy Mall, PAX members explored the Dark Web (1 merkin; 2 overhead presses; 2 merkins; 4 overhead presses… all the way to 10/20).

The team then partook in some broga but cut it short when someone recommended a round of monkey humpers in front of Orange Theory. PAX members then moseyed to Orange Theory for said monkey humpers. The windows were tinted/shaded, so PAX members couldn’t directly witness the several women swooning, but it was inevitable.

Mary:

PAX returned to the location of the previously borrowed shovel flag (it had not been returned today), and each HIM selected a core exercise to conclude the beatdown.

COT:

Recently finished a book called The Carpenter. Talks about being a craftsman in life – and craftsmen are more concerned with what they are creating and who they are becoming than simply getting things done. The book talks about going about your work and your life w/love, focused on serving and caring for others. Create habits that involve loving/serving others and fall in love w/the process. Focus on making a difference to one person, one moment at a time.

The Bible talks about self-righteous works vs. bearing fruit. Going about our work/lives with a focus on ourselves is righteousness w/strings attached. Focusing on loving/serving others will bear fruit, and we are judged by the fruit that we bear. Going about work/lives this way makes our work spiritual and connected. So fall in love w/the process over the results – and take on each day w/love in your heart.
