Warmarama:
We ran west towards the lake parking lot while doing the warm up stretches of each PAX’s choice.
Pre-Thang:
“Roxanne”
Farva’s favorite group is “The Police” (obviously), so we decided to ruin the song “Roxanne”. The PAX would hold a plank during the entire song, but would perform a merkin when “Roxanne” was sung and a half burpee when “put on the red light” was sung. We were happy the song was only three minutes long.
Thang:
YHC had attended many beatdowns at stormbreaker and experienced numerous versions of the “Werner Runway”….today we would experience them all.
We moseyed to the small entrance to the neighborhood and the PAX bear crawled up and crawl beared down. The next mosey took us to the bottom of the Lincoln street hill. YHC informed the PAX that all exercises would be reps of 21. 21 plus 21 equals 42, which was the age that Farva was turning on this day. At the bottom of the hill, we performed 21 diamond merkins. After moseying to the top of the hill, we completed 21 bobby hurleys. The PAX moseyed back down the hill to some lush (wet) grass for 21 Farva beans in each direction, so 42 total beans. Back up the hill we went and Schrutecontributed 21 primetime merkins.
On to the next runway, the PAX made it to an area with obstacles perfect for 21 durkins. Continuing down the runway to the end of the parking lot and multiple barriers great for 21 dips. Back up the runway we went before Swiper contributed 21 side straddle hops. Really Swiper?…he thought we needed a break. No breaks….down the next runway.
At the end of the parking lot, the PAX performed 21 (180) squat jumps. We moseyed to the traffic circle and each PAX found some curb for 21 groiners. Still not resting…on to the next stop. ICB contributed 21 Mike Tysons….ok, maybe a break? Nope…on down the road to the final stop before heading to the flags. At the final stop, Duracell contributed 21 Carolina dry docks. Time to Mosey to the flags, YHC decided we had some time so we ran the Lincoln road hill again. Just over 2 miles total….nice!

COT:
I have a habit of every morning checking my photo history for pictures that were taken on this day. The day before, a picture came up of a pre birthday dinner I had with a large group of friends. I remember being seated at the opposite end of a large table from my best friend….Mark Kaipust. I did not get to talk with him all night, but after the majority of people had left I decided to go down to his end of the table. We had a few drinks and small talk even though we needed to get home to our kids and our wives were nagging us to leave. I don’t remember what we talked about, but this would be the last time I would see my friend. About a week later, my friend and his young son were killed in a car accident on the way to a Husker game. I miss him and looking back on this night, I am glad we made the time. I remind everyone to make time and find time for the ones you love. We never know when the last time will be. RIP TK & MK
