COT:

Mulligan thanked YHC for pushing to launch Coronado – Thanks brother

YHC spoke about the fact that I have been hurt or broken several times since starting F3. I’ve had 2 separate calf issues and I fell down in January at a beatdown resulting in a broken rib and a punctured lung (work out at your own risk there is a definite possibility of injury). During my recoveries I have struggled to find Bruiser friendly beatdowns. The first injury I would arrive to beatdowns, join the pax before the beatdown, then read during the beatdown and join the pax for the COT and coffeteria. This was great and kept me engaged but the sad clown was ever present telling me to fart sack rather than wasting time doing nothing productive (sorry but reading Freed to Lead and Q-Source is very productive time and the COT’s and coffeteria are very healing for YHC). When I broke my rib I would search the Q schedule and go to beatdown locations I knew I could at least walk and stay in contact with he pax throughout the beatdown. So Heavy Metal, Steel Mill, and the Brickyard were locations I knew I could go to Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I would join Octagon and any other sites often times reaching out to the Q to see if it would be bruiser friendly. I knew I had to stay engaged to keep the Sad Clown from creeping in.

That is when I began thinking about launching a Bruiser friendly beatdown on a Monday as at the time the only beatdowns available were at Octagon, Ironwood, and Stormbreaker. At the same time my buddy Christian was battling cancer and we weren’t sure how all of his treatment would go. I knew in my heart I wanted to honor this man. I began thinking about creating a site in conjunction with a murph so we could have a combined coffeteria similar to what the Octagon and the District have with Kakhi’s Café.

I spoke to Mulligan regarding launching a bruiser friendly beatdown from Aldrich on Monday’s as I knew due to my work schedule I would not be present at beatdowns for at least a 3rd of the year. Mulligan was all in from the start. We discussed possible names and wanted to tie this to Red Wings the Operation in which Lieutenant Michael P Murphy (the MURPH’s Namesake) left cover exposing himself to the enemy so he could get a clear signal on his satellite phone to relay to headquarters they needed immediate support. Lieutenant Murphy lost his life due to these heroic actions and has been awarded the Medal of Honor the U.S. military’s highest decoration. With Michael P Murphy and my buddy SEAL Captain Christian Dunbar in mind we settled on Coronado. Coronado is where the Naval Amphibious Base is located in Southern California, the West Coast focal point for special and expeditionary warfare training and operations. Simply put Coronado is where the US Navy train and make SEALS.

Our goal for Coronado is to be a bootcamp beatdown that is open to all men, always bruiser friendly, always done with a Battle Buddy, team, or group. Coronado will be a place to recover from injury, build back up, or build toward your personal fitness goals. Coronado will push you but will also allow for modifications based on individual needs. Coronado is a low impact, low total miles traveled AO.

At Coronado

We will leave no man behind and leave no man where we find them.

We will always have a fellow pax with you the entire beatdown

Battle Buddy – Never Quit!

Mulligan led us out in prayer.
