COT: MIND RESET

It was 330pm yesterday and I had just gotten out of a meeting that basically sucked my will to live. I still had things to get done and couldn’t just go home, so I had to rally. Refill the woter bottle, quick trip to the restroom, headphones, and back to my desk to crank some things out. We all have these days, and we all have these moments, right? What made me stop in the midst of this was the OPTIMISTIC idea that in that moment, I had the chance to reset my mind and pull myself out of those doldrums.

We all have that opportunity each day in fact. God doesn’t promise our days to us, of course, but knowing that we can make our minds up on how we approach them makes a huge difference. So two things:

Remember to choose joy and optimism and to attack things head on –

And –

Lead those who struggle with this, and care for them well too. Others might not be in a state of mental health to be able to pivot in moments like these. Show them support.

So lead well, men! Could be a middle school kid trying to get out of bed, could be a friend who battles depression, or it could be you just turning those 90 degrees it takes to get out of bed for a beatdown. All three of those people need you to lead them!

Aye!
