QIC: Q-Tip

I arrived shortly before 5 AM to set up a couple things for the beatdown.  I was soon joined by Bobsled, and we enjoyed each othrs company on a brisk pre-ruck around Aksarben.  When we returned, the PAX were already gathering.  I greeted the rest of the PAX as they arrived.

Promptly at 5:30 AM, I welcomed the PAX, recited the Mission, Core Principals, Disclaimer and Credo.  No FNGs this morning.

WARM-O-RAMA:

PAX moseyed to the stage and circled up for WOR.

Tappy Taps x 15 IC | Cherry Pickers x 15 IC | Imperial Walkers x 15 IC |

We moseyed to the opposite end of the park and performed 20 Dips on the benches.  We then returned to the playground area for the Pre-Thang.

PRE-THANG:

7 Motivators

(T-Claps to Gunner, whose participation in the cadence helped keep me on track.)

THANG: 4 Man Grinder

4 man teams (2×2).  We moved to the North sidewalk.   Each 4 man team split into 2 teams.  Each 2-man team would remain together for the Thang, and also team with another 2-man team for the grinder, so that everyone had a partner for mumblechatter.

Sets of exercises are at each end of the infield.  The South end was the ‘pusher’—they performed 20 reps of their exercises and then push the 2 men on the North end, who did AMRAP exercises.

The exercises were as follows:

North End–AMRAP

  1.  Frozen Freddies
  2. Alt Lunges
  3. Diamond Merkins
  4. Chillcut Planks—30 second intervals
  5. Air Squats

South End—20 reps

  • Werkins
  • Flutter Kicks
  • Merkins
  • Carolina Dry Docks
  • Bobby Hurleys

Rinse and Repeat

6MOM:

Low Dollies x 20 | Box Cutters x 20IC | LBCs x 20 IC| American Hammers Rancid Style IC

PRAYERS.

None voiced out loud

COT.

I decided a week ago to attempt to perform Motivators for today’s workout.  Since that decision, I’ve had a lot of anxiety about being able to perform the cadence for that exercise properly.  I practiced them several times, and realized it takes quite a bit of concentration to keep the count accurate, inflect the last repetition of each exercise, and do that out loud.  I practiced several times this past week, and hoped I could perform during the Beatdown.   Thankfully, any mistakes went unnoticed by the PAX.

This experience caused me to ponder the many blessings in my life.  We have so many gifts that we take for granted or don’t think about daily—health, wealth, security, family, etc.  In fact, we have hit the jackpot of humanity by being born on Omaha, NE, North America, and not a slum of New Delhi, or  the mountains of West Virginia.  I implored the PAX to count and consider the many blessings they receive on a daily basis.

YHC took us out with a prayer.

Aye,
