Circle of Trust (COT):
One of the first things I liked about F3 right off when I first started was it was a break from all of the noise in our lives. This includes things going on in our personal lives as well as the noise generated by forces outside of our personal lives, such as the media/social media. All the men posting have relatively the same goal – To improve and get better in various areas such as health, relationship(s), and/or faith. I know personally, I utilized F3 as a way to not think about stressors for just a brief period of time in the morning. For me, it is therapeutic.
Before F3, I also did not scroll through twitter very often, but since F3 Omaha uses Twitter to communicate with the PAX, I am on it much more regularly now. I like Twitter, it allows us to see who posts every day by watching the Name-a-Rama, and we can get an idea about what a workout will be like by reading the preblast. However, one drawback is that occasionally I will see a post or a liked tweet by another PAX member that I do not agree with – i.e. political and social issues. At first this would kind of bum me out, but I had to remind myself that even though I don’t see eye to eye with on every issue with every PAX member, we all have the same basic principles. Otherwise we would not continue to show up at 5:30 in the morning. And this is what is great about F3, we may not agree, but we respect the ideology of other men, and we can agree to disagree. I mean, it’s a core principle FFS. We are open to all men. IMHO, though this is a simple civilized concept, respecting others viewpoint does not seem to be a standard practice these days, but I believe F3 can not only give us a break from the noise, but it can also serve as a model for how though we may have differences in opinions, we can still work and collaborate together for the common good.
We ended in prayer.
