Title: “Fun Farm Friday Frisbee”

PAX: (12 total) Fun Dip, Tony the Tiger, Woodstock, Ferdinand, Skidz, Amadeus, KOA, Bayside, Dozer, Eh, Busser

Q: G String

PreRunners/Ruckers: Busser, Jean Claude, Fun Dip, Skidz, Amadeus, G String

At 0515, G String welcomed the PAX to The Farm, stating F3 stands for fitness, followship, and faith.  He covered 5 core principles – it’s free, open to all men, always outside, it’s led in a rotating fashion, and it ends in a circle of trust.  He told them that we leave no man behind and no man where we found him.  G String stated the Mission Statement to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership and that he is not a professional. He asked if there were any FNG’s and there were none.

Warm a Rama:

  • 10 x Cherry Pickers (IC)
  • 10 x Tappy Taps (IC)
  • 10 x Big Ones (IC)

The group moseyed north on the trail towards the Springfield Soccer Complex.  The group stopped at a picnic pavilion where they performed 20 step ups and 20 derkins.  They proceeded north on the trail to the fields  where G String had setup the Care Bear Square – four corners with exercises.  Between the cones, they performed the bear crawl, or horse trot as Skidz would perform. This was not about speed, rather staying together. Each PAX took a turn leading the exercise count/cadence.

  • Cone 1: 20 shoulder taps, 10 shoulder tap merkins, 5 groiners
  • Cone 2: 20 squats, 10 jump squats, 5 big boys
  • Cone 3: 20 lunges, 10 Bonnie Blairs, 5 WWIs
  • Cone 4: 20 maverick merkins, 10 Oh Yas, 5 box cutters IC

The grass was thick and lush.

Upon completing the four corners, G String put on the music and the PAX split into two teams for ultimate frisbee. Naturally, there were (6) in black shirts so that was an easy split.  If a team got scored on, they do 5 burpees.

The colors team was up 3-0 and apparently got tired, or lazy, allowing the blackshirts to come back 3-3. A questionable turnover occurred while G String made a miraculous interception, planted both fit and prepared to throw just as Bayside stripped the frisbee from his hands. Play went on and Blackshirts scored – allegedly to win 4-3.

Just as time was running out and seconds before KOA dropped a final scoring opportunity, G String called “Omaha” and the group returned to the flags for Mary.

Learn from your victories and mistakes.  At the end of each day you should ask yourself “what went well today” and “what didn’t go so well”. At work we call this “Do again/Do Better”.  Really take a step back and think about your daily interactions and determine where you can improve and also repeat. You know I bring this up because this is where I had my VQ and I still to this day feel like I totally botched it. I encourage you to lay down for your sleep at night and think through, even write down, what you can do better tomorrow and what you should do again.

G String prayed us out.

Aye!
