Dangerzone: Trip or Vacation?

I welcomed the PAX of F3 Omaha to Paradise Island. F3 stands for Fitness, Faith and Fellowship, the 5 core principles : always free, open to all men, always outside, pier lead in a rotating fashion and ends in a circle of trust. The mission statement was recited and then I announced that I am not a professional and to modify as necessary.

Warm-O-Rama:
From the flags the PAX headed down to the track and preformed – 15 S.S. Hops, 10 Tappy Taps, 10 Big Ones, 20 Sun Gods 10 forward & !0 backwards and 15 more S.S. Hops to end WOR.
The Pre Thang:
1 lap around the track followed by 10 burpee’s, ½ lap around into 10 burpee’s and 15 Alt. shoulder taps right into another ½ lap to 10 burpee’s 15 Alt. shoulder taps and 20 air squats. Finally another 2 laps to end the pre thang.
The Thang:
3 Man Grinder (100 yds.) – the Q had a list of exercises at each goaline on the football field. South goaline had all core while the north side had shoulder and leg alternating between both. 1 PAX at each goaline while the third PAX will be running between with a stop at the 50 yd line for 5 burpee’s.

I heard A PAX member talking about snapping at his M during a vacation and it reminded me of myself awhile back going on “vacations” with the family and remembering being absolutely miserable. What I thought was going to be a relaxing time always turned into chaos or what I thought was chaos. I listen to the Pat McCafee Show daily and one episode he talked about how he was at a beach resort watching Dan Orlovsky who has four kids run back and fourth from the beach to his room getting things for his wife and kids adding that it did not look a vacation and absolutely miserable then A.J. Hawk immediately chimed in saying that he’s NOT on vacation that he was on a Trip making lifelong lasting memories for his wife and kids. DAN WAS LIVING THIRD! This statement burned into my brain so I started applying it in the TRIPS we took as a family and what was again what I thought were going to be dreaded experiences became some of the most fun I’ve ever had making lasting memories for my M and kids.
I took us out in prayer.
