COT – A Story on PerspectiveI was coming home from a business trip a few years ago and was in a time crunch because my layover got delayed and I had to hop on the work computer to submit my timecard for the week. It was kind of frustrating to deal with little delays that were keeping me from getting to my next flight since I had to walk a long way across the airport to get to my next terminal. Then, I saw a few airport fire trucks driving across the tarmac to the back of my plane. It was at that point I spotted the hearse vehicle also roll up to the back of the plane to have a coffin loaded into the back of the hearse. I had no idea that I was flying on what was most likely a flight of honor. My mind immediately switched from frustration about first-world issues to feeling deflated that I was complaining about such little things when a family had just lost a loved one. I realized my situation was not that serious or important as compared to the family who was bringing home a loved one they had lost and that I was thankful for being able to get home to my family on time.
