Q – Patton
It was a beautiful 53 degree morning just ripe for Patton’s Punishment. 24 PAX were gathered promptly at 0555 (knowing the General does not take kindly to his Company being tardy) in anticipation of what they knew was going to be a momentous beatdown. Patton covered the mission statement, core principles, and disclaimer. We welcomed 3 2.0’s (Patton’s 2.0 Sketchers, Short Sale’s 2.0 Wrigley, and Fallout’s 2.0 Ninja) that chose to honor the General and get a hard workout in prior to the 0700 2.0 workout.
Warm-a-rama –
Patton led the PAX on a short .3 mile run, there was some mumblechatter regarding whether the run was really a short run, to a parking lot where the PAX formed a circle for Warm-a-rama.
10 – SSH (IC)
10 – Tater Taps (IC)
10 – Cherry Pickers (IC)
10 – Imperial Walkers (IC)
The PAX counted off into 4 groups for the Thang
The Thang
7 of Diamonds
Performed in a large diamond on the parking lot. For the first round, the PAX did 7 reps of burpees at each of the 4 corners with a mosey (or sprint) in between corners. Each round, increased by 7 reps with a different exercise each round, for a total of 4 rounds. Round 2, 14 merkins at each of the 4 corners. Round 3, 21 bobby hurleys at each of the 4 corners. Round 4, 28 SSH (IC) at each of the 4 corners. Rinse and repeat when finished with the four rounds.
It brought a smile to Patton’s face when he heard mumblechatter from the PAX that they were happy to move on to burpees after all of the SSH (IC).
Omaha was called and the PAX was instructed to Mosey back toward the south side of the school for the Post Thang.
Post Thang
Staying in the same groups the PAX were instructed to have half the group run to the front of the school and do 20 dips on the railings and run back, while the remaining members did the following exercises AMRAP until they were relieved. The PAX moved to the next exercise after completing each round.
ROUND 1 – MERKINS
ROUND 2 – SSH (IC)
ROUND 3 – DIAMOND MERKINS
ROUND 4 – MONKEY HUMPERS (IC)
ROUND 5 – CRUCIBLE MERKINS
ROUND 6 – COPPERHEAD SQUATS
RINSE AND REPEAT UNTIL OMAHA IS CALLED
Omaha was called and the PAX were instructed to Mosey back to the Shovel Flags
The General opted to forego MOM as the PAX seemed to be ready to vacate the premises, which brought a smile to Patton’s face.
COT:
Patton read a simple quote that resonates deeply for him and his 2.0’s
“Leadership is not wielding authority — it’s empowering people” — Becky Brodin
True leadership is about building other people up and not about controlling and manipulating others to getting what you want. Instead, it’s about developing others from the inside out.
Patton led us out in prayer.
