As the PAX started to congregate at The Maize, there were quite a few familiar faces but also a good amount of non-familiar faces. 6 new guys today, WOW! Started thinking about possibly cutting the beatdown short to make sure there was ample time for naming FNGs!
Obi-Wan welcomed the PAX to F3 at 5:30 AM, YHC stated what F3 stands for, recited our five core principles, called out the F3 mission statement and our F3 credo. 6 FNG’s in attendance! Modify as necessary as YHC is not a professional.
Told the PAX that Pit Stop was originally on the Q today, however one of his properties was affected by the recent hurricane in Florida. Thoughts and prayers to Pit Stop. So in honor of Pit Stop and his belly hurting once and a while, we were going to be doing plenty of core today!
The PAX circled up in the parking lot for Warm-o-rama.
Warm-o-rama:
YHC is no yoga master so not sure of the name for these but we started in an upright position, down to plank, then to up dog position and did the same in reverse to be back in the upright position, we completed 5 of these
Hip Circles – roughly a 10 count
Cat / Cow stretches – roughly a 10 count each
Bird Dog stretch – roughly a 10 count each
10 IC – Tappy Taps
10 IC – Michael Phelps
Prior to heading off on a mosey another side note for the PAX was they were going to get some good corny jokes this morning. So we started off with the first one…
‘Why shouldn’t you tell a secret on a farm? Because the corn has ears!’
Our mosey began over to the hill prior to the path to the lake.
Pre-Thang:
At the hill we counted into pairs.
Partner 1 – Run to the top of the hill and alarm clock down the hill, taking a couple steps down after each alarm clock. Relieve your partner at the bottom.
Partner 2 – AMRAP LBC’s, Big Boys, Heel Touches
Close to everyone was able to get all the AMRAP exercises in but it was time to recover and move on to The Thang. But first, another joke!
‘What did the baby corn say to the mama corn? Where’s pop corn?!’
Short mosey to the open field East of HWS Cleveland Blvd.
The Thang:
With the same partner we did close to the same thing as the Pre-Thang.
Partner 1 – Run to the F street neighborhood entrance and complete 10 WWI big boys and then run back to relieve your partner.
Partner 2 – AMRAP Gas Pumpers, Flutter Kicks, Plank (w/ or w/out opposite hand and foot stretched out)
At approximately 6:00 Omaha was called. Joke time!
‘What did the corn say when he received a compliment? Aw, shucks’
The PAX moseyed back to the shovel flags.
Mary:
Mufasa was teaching me the different tones of my voice earlier in the beatdown and what each tone meant. YHC appreciated the gesture so wanted to return the favor by requesting him to lead a core exercise of his choice. The last thing anyone expected was him to emulate Ketchup’s 6” exercise but that’s what Mufasa picked and that’s we did. Thanks Mufasa!
One round of American Hammers IC – Rancid Style. Had to then finish with our last joke…
‘What has ears but can’t hear a thing? A corn field!’
(While reciting the first half of this joke, one of the responses that was thrown out from the PAX was Mufasa… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!) We all love you Mufasa 😊
After Name-o-rama it was time to name FNG’s. The FNG’s gave us some great content to work with and T-claps to our man Barbershop for naming 3 out of 6!!!!!

COT:
I explained the corny jokes were meant to get people chuckling and giggling this morning because sometimes we just need to. I had a rough week and typically when I do at some point, I notice my kids laughing uncontrollably at something because they have no care in the world at their ages. We lose sight of that as we get older because of different stresses in our life, but sometimes just laughing at something whether it’s funny or not just feels really good. Smile around others that seem like they may be having a difficult day, laughing and smiling can be contagious!
Swiper (thanks again for heading out West brother!) took us out in prayer.
SYITG!
Obi-Wan
