21 PAX and an FNG met at the flags. Yogi introduced himself and asked for FNG’s. No FNG’s, but a first time farmer – Patton (wow). Yogi welcomed the group to F3, went through the 5 core principles and noted that he is not an expert and recommended to modify as necessary (especially since he was 6 days post vasectomy, he will be modifying). The group then mosey’ed over to square for warmarama.
Warmarama: The group circled up. The first exercise was 12 side straddle hops, followed by 15 Tappy Taps in cadence; 10 Big Ones in cadence, and finished with 12 Side Straddle Hops.
Prethang: The group then headed up Main Street to the big steps. We did 2 rounds of: 10 step ups, 10 dips, 10 derkins. We then mosyed south and cut back west to the fairgrounds.
Thang: Yogi had the PAX count off into groups of 4. There was a list of exercises; the group would perform the first, then run a lap in the fairgrounds. When they got back, they would do exercise 1 and 2, then a lap, adding a new exercise after each lap. The list included:
5 RANGER MERKINS
10 APOLLO OHNOS
15 ALT SHOULDER TAPS
20 GROINERS
25 MONKEY HUMPERS
30 JUMP SQUATS
35 IMPERIAL WALKERS
40 SARPY SLAMMERS
45 LBC’S
50 CHERRY PICKERS
After about 6 rounds, Omaha was called. The PAX mosey’ed back to the flags.
Mary: Sarpy Slammers, Rancid style.
Namarama
Announcements: Project Hope event, help setting up tent, F3 expansion, 1776, Patton & Cheap Seats collecting diapers for Boys Town
Prayers: Prayers for Supe’s son, Patton’s friend Christen and family, others unsaid.
COT: I thanked everyone for coming out, as this is my 1 year with F3. Over the last year, F3 has had a lot of obvious effects on my life, and one I just recently noticed. Discussed how I noticed changing my family’s morning routine in the last year has had an unexpected effect; we used to watch the news every morning, but since I started F3, we hadn’t been. Unbeknownst to us, my M and I noticed how our young daughter was not as anxious and asking questions about current events anymore. We realized the morning news, with the sensationalized news cycle, was having an adverse effect on the kids, my oldest in particular. Anxious about covid, mass shootings, plane crashes, etc. These are things that a 6 year old should not be worrying about. By removing that “input,” it has been good for her. The morning news was a routine, and we were oblivious to the effect it was having. I basically wanted to stress 2 things: shake up the routine on occasion and monitor the inputs your kids are taking in.
Escobar ended with a prayer.
Aye! Yogi
