Q: Tin Cup

Tin cup welcomed the PAX to F3 Omaha at 5:30 AM. The Mission Statement, Disclaimer, and 5 Core Principles were given. An inquiry about FNGs was also made, but no FNGs were in attendance. The men then made their way to the basketball court by the school for warm-a-rama.

Warm-A-Rama:

Once at the location, the men circled up and the following exercises were performed:

  • Tappy Taps – 15 (IC)
  • Side Straddle Hops – 15 IC
  • Imperial Walkers – 15 IC
  • ATMs -10 each (Alternating Shoulder Taps | Tempo Merkins | Merkins

Pre-THANG: 11 Minutes of 11s on the Hill

  • Groiners at bottom of the hill | Run up the Hill next to the school and basketball courts | Merkins at top of the hill | Run down the Hill next to the school and basketball courts
  • Jump Tucks at bottom of the hill | Run up the Hill next to the school and basketball courts | Overhead Claps at top of the hill | Run down the Hill next to the school and basketball courts

The THANG:

Four Corners: The PAX divided into 4 groups. Each corner of the field contained a list of 4 exercises to be completed by the group in order. After completing one exercise, each group would run (goal line to goal line) or high knees (sideline to sideline) to the next corner and complete one exercise. Groups did exercises together and were encouraged to take turns leading. Omaha was called about 6:02 AM. I believe everyone got through all exercises and was just starting their second round when Omaha was called.

MOM

  • Captain Thor: Done in a 5:1 ratio. 5 American Hammers to 1 big boy sit up. PAX completed 25:5

Mumblechatter:

  • During the warm-a-rama, there was some chatter about renaming me “Timothy Cup” (see 8/24/21 Colosseum Backblast). Hopefully that will not stick.
  • It was quiet during the 11s on the Hill. YHC called Omaha for the Pre-THANG a few minutes earlier than he had planned because the hill seemed to be about 30% longer than he had remembered. I do not think anyone started the Jump Tucks and Overhead Claps segment of the 11s.
  • Due to a lack of oxygen, YHC decided to do the Caption Thor’s in a 5:1 ratio to 25 hammers instead of 4:1 to 20 hammers.

Circle of Trust (COT):

I started by indicating I had identified the following quote to help me talk about an aspect of F3 that is important to me and I believe to the PAX.

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness

― Mahatma Gandhi

Because of the willingness of men to share during nearly every COT, I regularly think about how I can be a better father, husband, son, and person. F3 is definitely about getting stronger and in shape, but it’s also about self-reflection and becoming more aware of opportunities to improve oneself. I know I am not always successful in capitalizing on every opportunity to improve myself, but I do know that F3 and this group of men will help keep me accountable and allow (or force) me to reflect on what I need to do to be a better person. Mahatma Gandhi described prayer as the admission of ones weaknesses, and F3 allows me to better recognize what I need to work on. That is, weaknesses in relationships and in my life. F3 gives me the opportunity to regularly admit my weaknesses to myself through prayer. This is something I rarely did previously, and now it is an important part of my life.

We ended in prayer.
