12 PAX: Davinci, Vanilla Ice, Safe Ride, Jazz Hands, Smash Mouth, Black Lung, Rosetta, Folsom, Tom Tom, HoneyStinger, Iced Tea, Stella
5:30 AM: YHC welcomed PAX, reviewed core principles, mission statement and credo. Today was Halloween and 5-6 of the PAX had costumes on!
We then ran up the street to the Creepy Triangle for some Pickle Pushers and Oh Yeahs. After this, we went to the track for a class ¾ lap and met in the middle for Warm-A-Rama.
Warm-A-Rama:
- SSH
- Tappy Taps
- Windmills
- Imperial Walkers
- SSH
Pre-Thang: We stayed in the circle and listened to the classic Ghost Busters song – we did a Burpee each time the word “ghost” was mentioned. For the rest time, we started with squats and transition to Goof Balls for the remained. YHC put a stop to this at 2:11 – or about halfway through the song – it seemed like it lasted a lot longer. (That’s what she said!!)
To keep us moving, we then ran up the stairs, back down and completed some Monkey Humpers. We did this twice before going back to the field.
The Thang: For the Thang, we did a class 3-man grinder. One person in the group ran from endzone to endzone, while the others did AMRAP of the following exercises.
North Endzone
- Merkins
- Carolina Dry Docks
- Hand Release Merkins
- Burpees
- Werkins
- SSH
- Plank
- Shoulder touches
South Endzone
- Bobby Hurleys
- Big Boys
- Crabwalk touches
- Air Squats
- Sungods
- Mountain Climbers
- Lunges
- SSH
It was cold out today. Background music was Spotify’s Halloween Party playlist for something different. Omahacalled around 6:02 AM. We then circled up for some Mary, which consisted of Frozen Fredd’s, Scissor Kicks, Flutter Kicks, Box Cutters and some American Hammers.
We then did Name-A-Rama, announcements and prayer requests mentioned and noted. For the COT today, I shared a quote from Marcus Aureliu, which goes like this: “When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly. They are like this because they can’t tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own — not of the same blood or birth, but of the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me.” Around a month ago, I was dealing with a lot of instances at work with unhappy and ungrateful people. This really struck home and reminded me not to let other people’s treatment of you dictate your day and attitude. Closed with prayer.
