Q: Frosty
What a beautiful morning! YHC got to walk alongside Patton during his ruck before welcoming all the PAX at the shovel flag. I was so happy to see some guys I hadn’t worked out with for a little while. I was also really happy to see Snowman and Caruso, who were FNGs at the Canyon Saturday.
Delivered the mission statement, core principles and creedo.
Then welcomed Stapler
We moseyed to the lit turf to the north of inner rail. Next to the dog park. I’m going to call it the People Park.
Warm O’ Rama The PAX circled up in the grass for warm-o-rama
15 SSH
15 Tappy-Taps
10 Big Ones
15 Alternating Shoulder Taps
15 Moroccan Night Clubs
Pre Thang: I’ll always remember the first time I did 100 reps of any exercise. I felt so awesome. Sometimes I like to do a pre-thang of 100 SSH and 100 Merkins, today it was Dips and Step-ups
Each PAX lead a set of 10 reps, alternating between Dips and Step-Ups. For example:
PAX #1 – 10 Dips
PAX #2 – 10 Step-Ups
PAX #3 – 10 Dips
PAX #4 – 10 Step-Ups
Only problem was, we had 18 High Impact Men at the workout, so we were stuck with 90 reps of each exercise.
At request of the PAX, The Q and the Site Q each lead an additional set to get us to 100
The Thang: We moseyed to the garage behind The Inner Rail and came upon a pretty serious 40 yard incline. There were cones at each end. Blink, Blink, Blink.
Looks like a perfect spot for good, old-fashioned 11’s
Merkins at the bottom and Air Squats at the top
The Post-Thang: YHC called Omaha at 5:56, because there was still time for a little surprise. The PAX were directed to follow me around the corner of the parking garage. There was a net bag filled with 6 dodge balls for DODGE BALL!
First things First, we hadn’t seen Buns for a while so I asked everyone to throw their ball at him. They did not seize this command with much gusto so we just played Dodgeball.
Highlights – at one point the Super Sweet Team was down to 3 (and they were all 3 RESPECTS – Hooah, Caruso and Dollface)
Rice-a-Roni and Stitches have no boundaries
Polaroid is not to be trifled with. That is all.
Sketchy Dark Garage Team beat The Super Sweet Team 2 matches to 1
Omaha was called and it was back to the flag.
Announcements/Prayers: Tons of announcements. Coronado launched, Rabbit Hole Sunday with Paradise Hosting, Icey-Hot on the Q, Vala’s and more. Check Slack
My mom Judy has stage 1 lung cancer and is ready to work through it
I also asked for prayers for Chuck, who is homeless in Omaha and I am taking to medical detox in Lincoln today
COT: I want to get better every day. The Mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. Leaders. I want to be the best version of myself so I can be the best F3 member I can be. So I can be an effective leader, a dedicated follower and help others be great leaders. We get right, we live right and we lead right.
I want to get right. How do I become the best version of myself? There are lots of ways. Visualizing my future self. My “perfect” self. How does that person eat? How do they talk? How do they treat others? I have to know what it is before I can become it right?
Once I have that vision, one tool I use is a daily inventory. I look back on my day. I look at my thoughts and my actions. Yesterday, I had coffee with a couple of guys and I said a couple of things that were mildly disrespectful about my wife. At the end of the day I looked back and I didn’t like what I saw. I later reached out and told those guys exactly what I didn’t like about my behavior and that it was wrong. That I was wrong. I made it right with my wife as well. Take responsibility, learn and move on.
I promise if you take time to review your day, you’ll see giant spotlights your assets and liabilities and continue your journey toward your best self.
And I want to say one more thing about how we talk to and about our M’s, 2.0’s or other loved ones. What if someone else said the things I said? What if someone else talked to her the way I did? Once I learned that lesson, the communication in my house really evened out.
Greasefire took us out in prayer
