Q:  Blades of Glory

Weather 85 degrees, Lightning, a little rain, but I couldn’t tell because I was sweating so bad.

18 PAX: Fine Print, Unicycle, Sweet sweet, Vlasik, Crab cakes, Yodel, Tonight Show, Gator, Mufasa, Moon Man, Obi Wan, Yogi, Kingsford, Speed square, blades of Glory,  And almost forgot Mr. Miyagi (not the first time) sorry bro

FNG “2 Face” or “two Face” inspired by tattoo on leg

-Arrived Dazed and confused with possible rain, 4 min late to the smurph, and thinking the portable speaker had no battery power left. (It actually did just couldn’t figure it while driving)

-Caught up with Yogi & Speed Square for the beginning of 3rd round of Smurph “half way there baby”.  They informed me Unicycle was doing 5 miles and we saw Fine Print at 5:00 all alone for a pre- run as well.  No respect. 

5:27  Unloaded the 9 Coupons from the back of the Vibe just in time for…..

5:30 Started fast intro F3, men, free, outdoor, rotate, COT.  Then to my surprise we had a FNG.  Needed to start over and explain so I went over the meaning of the 5 Core principles then just a blades of Glory typical 1 word quick reminder.  Continued with Mission statement, Modify, leave no one behind.  And Iron Pax is beginning in September so starting some training….

5:33  Everyone grabs a coupon to head to the south side of the football field on the grass.

5:34  Progress not perfection but felt like I took 1 step back on today Q.  Darker than expected, I only had 2 flash lights, typed my work out wrong that I provided 3 copies, so the next 7 min was not ideal… Some of the moves were different so wanted all of the guys to know correct moves so for warm a rama we did a shorter version of the “Thang” That i’ll just skip over since I would rather pull one of my own nails off then go through that again…

400 Meter run (get all exhausted)

1 Blockie

20 overhead Shoulder presses w/Coupon.  

20 (1 each leg) walking Lunges w/Coupon extended over head 

 (???1-5, some blockies) then 20 (1 each leg) walking Lunges w/Coupon extended over head  (walking back to where you started)

-30 overhead Shoulder Press w/Coupon

-30 Merkins w/Coupon left hand on grass, right hand on Coupon, then both hands on coupon, then right hand on grass, left hand on coupon.  (each merkin counted as 1 rep)

-15 Sit Ups w/ Coupon (extend arms overhead as reach full sit up position)

-10 American Hammers w/Coupon I.C. 

-20 Thruster w/ Coupon Full Range (Squat to overhead shoulder press)

Set coupon down 

-20 monkey humpers I.C.

– 50 Air Squats.. 2 options Set coupon down have your bum touch coupon for full range air squats or have coupon by chest for weighted air squat

As I learned Measure twice and cut once.  Just like Beatdown, check it twice before executing!

During work out lots of breaks, breathing mumble chatter, sarcasm, The humidity just added another layer to the beatdown.  

6:05 called Omaha and made it back to the parking lot with coupons.  

6:08  Blades of Glory realized he wanted to do a Core workout with a coupon.  Had the Pax grab one and then we circled back up.  To do a leaning to one side 15x on both sides with some very unusual cadence and blades finishing his figure skating performance with not the same confidence as when he started. (next time).

Finished with Rancid style american Hammers. 

Name o Rama:  almost completely forgot about  Mr. Myagi (again) 

FNG:  stepped his way into the middle sharing info about himself like most guys do but were looking for the good stuff and the tattoo with one side being an angel and other devil(ish) a name was birthed.  Two Face.

First encouraged the FNG to come back again to try another work out before he comes to a conclusion about F3.  

-I think I have mentioned it before but M, and 2.0 son enjoyed a modified Cross fit class at Y 2019.  We really enjoyed it and loved the atmosphere of the consistent small group.  I stumbled across the Fittest man on Earth and other Cross fit games Documentaries that were so interesting.  Knowing that our Y instructor went to train with Rich Froning (he is kind of a big deal) we were determined to have a cross fit watch party at our house (we did this 2 years in a row).  When Covid happened the Y closed but we modified and continued to meet outside at the park across the street from our house.   We brought our own weights and rotated who led the work outs.  It was great to see so many continue to accelerate.  Also I was becoming continuously irritated on how well my 2.0 improved while I was still sucking wind.

Fast forward to today:  5-6 days a week I get the privilege of hanging out with H.I.M that push me physically, emotionally, spiritually and continuing to point out the blind spots in my life so I can keep being my best self so others who come to the Gloom can be their best self.  Thx.
