YHC arrived one minute late for the pre-run. Had to make the loaner minivan boogie to make it just in time before the rest of the pre-run crew made its way east on Underwood. T-claps to Plague, Sparty, Smashmouth, and Firewalker.
Mission statement, credo, and disclaimer were given to a “record” number of Pax. Moseyed down to the esplanade for Warm-o-Rama:
-SSH – 25 IC – run up the stairs
-Hillbillies – 15 IC – run down the stairs
-Moroccan Nightclubs – 15 IC – run up the stairs
-Tappy Taps – 10 IC
-Bobby Hurleys – 10
Moseyed back to the esplanade where Pax formed groups of 3 for The Thang:
A traditional 3 man grinder. Pax 1 did AMRAP exercises at the wall, Pax 2 ran to relieve Pax 3 all the way to the south on Dodge Street. YHC had eight exercises planned for each station, but it’s roughly a quarter mile from the wall to Dodge . . . AMRAP merkins while waiting for partners to run half a mile makes up for calling “Omaha” on half the Weinke, amirite?

-YHC let it be known that his COT message is usually something that I need to work on, but it hopefully helpful to the Pax. I’m naturally more of a half-empty glass kind of guy . . . so I’ve used several Q’s to focus on positivity. Relayed messages from two positive thinkers of some renown:
-The new kid in class is an opportunity to make a new friend. Q. Richards
-“To become a happy person have a clean soul, eyes that see romance in the commonplace, a child’s heart, and spiritual simplicity.” N.V. Peale
Encouraged Pax to use new experiences as opportunities, to spread positivity, and to work on having a positive outlook.
-Closed with a prayer/announcements
-Coffeteria at Crane.
