At 5:30 sharp, YHC started to welcome everyone to F3 amid a myriad of mumble chatter. The crowd quieted down long enough to hear that F3 stands for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith; the mission to plant, grow, and serve small workouts for the invigoration of male community leadership; and 5 core principles of being free, open to all men, always outside, lead in a rotating fashion, and ending in a COT. With no FNGs, I stated everything was a suggestion today, so modify as needed.
Warm-A-Rama
The initial plan was to do WAR in the grass, but it was flooded and frozen, so we audibled to the cement outside the movie theater.
- Goofballs x 15 IC
- Copperhead Squats x 10 IC
- Tappy Taps x 10 IC
- Sun Gods x 10 IC forward and backward
- Cherry pickers x 10
THE PRE-THANG
PAX counted off and then split up into two groups. 1s started on the south stairwell, 2s started on the north. The goal was to run up one set of stairs, across the parking garage’s top level, and down the other side. The twist was that you had to do 10 merkins at the top of each stairwell (meaning 10 when you got to the top and 10 more when you were about to go down on the other side). Rinse and repeat until Omaha is called. We made it up 5 or 6 times before Omaha was called.
PAX then went back to the park for the Thang.
THE THANG
PAX lined up and were told we would do an exercise the move us forward, stop for 4 exercises, and then do another moving exercise before 4 more static exercises.
Round 1: Starting on the far east side of the park by the tower, PAX did 20 walking lunges (10 each leg).
- Carolina Dry Docks X 15 on down
- Flutter Kicks x 15 IC
- Jump squat x 15 on down
- Merkins x 15 on down
Round 2: PAX did crawl bears for 20 seconds around the sidewalk, circled back up and completed the following exercises.
- Carolina Dry Docks X 15 on down
- LBCs x 15 IC
- Jump tucks x 15 on up
- Merkins x 15 on down
Counting was shared by the group going down the line. There were some variations thrown in (freed to lead) that made the Merkins pretty tough toward the end. A lot of mumble chatter, lead by Pony and Bubbles (of course), but close behind were Samples and Othello. Once we got to the stage, we turned around and all moving exercises were done backward (reverse lunges x 20 and 20-second crawl bears) until Omaha was called at 6:07.

Announcements/COT:
- Announcements/Prayers
- Gryllz noted a child at his kids’ school is battling a brain tumor. We ask you pray for Molly, her family, and the kids who are all affected and dealing with the news.
- Turkey Trot will happen again this year, stay tuned for formal details.
- Blood drive Friday. Sign up and make a difference. PAX in F3Omaha have seen the benefits, with one person’s kid needing 16 pints. This is critical and a very worth cause of a few minutes of your day.
- Poker tournament and bourbon tasting this Saturday. Look to Slack for details.
- COT
- “If anyone can make today a good day, it’s you!”
- I have fought mental battles before. I have had months of almost no sleep and stressful work. However, the only way I was able to get out of those funks was my intentional action. I’m the one who can make someone else smile. I’m the one who can push myself a little more to make something great today. Do not let one negative snowball. Find the best version of yourself as possible. It’s not always a GREAT day, but you can make each one better for you, your family, your coworkers.
- Aye!
