Q: Slow Pitch, Weather was a 7 out of 10.
Slow Pitch showed up about 30 minutes before the start time and ran a little over a mile to determine if he had some of the right pain station locations. He was right on target. At the start time of the 5:30 he started gibbering about the mission statemen, the 5 core principles and that he wasn’t a professional. We won’t leave you behind or where we left you. Let’s go, there’s some ground to cover.

COT: You don’t know what you’re building here at the Labyrinth. I can tell you from my own personal experience, my favorite Site is Paradise. Any of you that know me for more than 15 minutes, know that I don’t like running, however, my favorite site is a running site. It was where I struggled a significant amount to complete the entire workout. I have been there over 120 or 130 times and thought I wasn’t going to make it at least 50 of those times. It was the place that I went to during Covid, when we had to close the other sites. That was my place of security, a place where I could feel alright in a time of uncertainty. It was the place where I was Site Q, and I was honored to put a shovel flag in the ground every week. I have forged a few of my strongest relationships with newfound friends, while in my mid-forties there.It is the place that when I’m not at on Wednesday, I feel like I missed something.
I share this with you, because when Plague and F3 Omaha started Paradise, they didn’t know what they were really building and I don’t know if you do either, but I can give you some kind of idea:
It could be the place where a guy is physically and mentally pushed to be a better version of himself. Or maybe it’s a cornerstone to his week, where he knows what day of the week it is because of the location alone. Maybe this is the place that helps keep a guy sane or comfortable, loved and not alone. Maybe this is the place that a grown-up man meets his next best friend or even a mentor. You don’t know what you’re building, specifically, but whatever it is, it can be extremely special, as I know what another site did and does for me. Thank you for letting me be here this morning!
