Labyrinth – Ziplining
Date: July 28, 2022
PAX: (16) Ozark (Respect), Cousin Eddy, Obi Wan, Cheap Seats, Hard Hat, Griswold, Bayside, Gator, Tonight Show, Ketchup, Speed Square,
Unicycle, Barbershop, Yodel, Light Bright
QIC: Fine Print (No Respect)
Conditions: Beautiful. 67 degrees F. Feels like 68 degrees F. Humidity 81%. Wind 5.9 mi/hr from NE.
YHC heard that Ozark was going to skip the Respect popup for my No Respect Q and something interesting happened in my pants. I eagerly arrived
at the Zipline to sit alone in my car and wonder just what I was doing volunteering to Q at the new running AO. But I figured this was a good way to
avoid Mufasa for a morning. The prerunners and smurphers were trickling in and I welcomed them back to the flags.
YHC recited the 5 core principles, missions statement and credo. The Fine Print disclaimer was provided. I explained to the 15 HIMs that we would
run from the Zipline to the zipline and end back at the zipline. Confusion palpable.
The Route:
Depart flags head to George B. Lake Pkwy.
Turn West, cross Highway 6, and head into the neighborhood. Downhill start feeling good.
Turn North on 205 th and run to the roundabout (Vinton St) for first set of 20 merkins.
Head west and mosey up hill on Vinton to the next roundabout (Blue Sage Drive) for second set of 20 merkins.
Continue up over the hill to next roundabout (Grover) for 20 werkins.
Continue on Grover before turning left onto A Street. Continue on A Street until you get to 215 th Street and Blue Sage Elementary. We headed
around to the back of the school to briefly look at the zipline on the playground. We had reached our destination. Ozark informed me we were
running short on time so we had to scratch naked ziplining from the schedule. ☹ Okay time to turn around.
We headed back to 215 th Street and then turned north taking us back to Grover Street where we passed YHC’s house and sauntered down the hill.
The PAX arrived back at the roundabout for a 10 count and 20 merkins.
Then headed up hill on Blue Sage Drive (the way we came) stopping at the Vinton roundabout for 20 merkins.
From there we headed back down Vinton to the roundabout to gather the group before turning to head back South on 205 th towards George B. Lake
Pkwy. We climbed the hill and safely crossed the now busier highway arriving back at the flags with 3.73 miles under our belts.
Prayers and Announcements: There were no prayers and many announcements related to the various goings on within and around F3Omaha.
Popups, Flag passes, new sites and what have yous.
COT: I shared a quote from Nelson Mandela that read: “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one
you are capable of living.” This quote struck me because life is short. Time flies. I encouraged the PAX to take smart risks and bet on themselves.
Slainte!
