AO:  Fancy Feast – Millard West High School

Weather:  2°, 1 mph SSE wind

PAX (8):  Escobar, Urkle, Kickstand, Lite-Brite, Hard Hat, Motorboat, Chippendale, Stripes

QIC: Stripes

YHC arrived to the AO at 0459 foregoing the prerun due to a lingering foot issue that caused the beatdown to be more bruiser-friendly. Due to the previous day’s snow accumulation and ice on the pavement, I elected to go to the football field as opposed to the parking lot I had previously planned. I mosey’d to the field trudging through the snow and set up cones on the snow-covered football field. I made it back to the flags at 0515 where the PAX were waiting on me after returning from their prerun/ruck. I quickly changed gloves and apologized for being a bit tardy and went straight into the intro stating the three F’s, mission statement, five core principles, credo, disclaimer, and asked if there were any FNG’s or any new PAX members to Fancy Feast. There were none. We then proceeded to the snow-covered sidewalk for the warm-o-rama.

WARM-O-RAMA

(15) Side Straddle Hops (IC)

(15) Tappy Taps (IC)

(15) Big Ones (3-count left, 3-count right)

(15) Monkey Humpers

At the conclusion of the warm-o-rama, we took a slow mosey to the football field for the pre-thang and thang.

PRE-THANG

11s – burpees and air squats. PAX did 1 burpee and 10 air squats then walked/jogged 10 yards, then did 2 burpees and 9 air squats then walked/jogged 10 yards, then did 3 burpees and 8 air squats then walked/jogged 10 yards, and so on and so forth until we went the length of the football field ending with 10 burpees and 1 air squat. PAX went at their own pace but mostly stayed together and there was a healthy amount of mumblechatter.

THE THANG

Up and down the ladder – 5 lighted cones were placed approximately 20 yards apart in the middle of the football field and at each cone was one exercise. The PAX began at one endzone and lunged 20 yards to the first cone, completed the exercise, lunged 20 yards to the next cone, completed the exercise, lunged 20 yards to the next cone, completed the exercise, and so on and so forth until we went the length of the football field completing all 5 exercises at each cone. PAX then went back down the ladder this time back-pedaling 20 yards from cone to cone and completing the exercises at each stop again. Exercises were as follows…

Mountain Climbers (15 IC)

Zebra Kicks (10 each leg)

Alternating Shoulder Taps (15 IC)

Bobby Hurleys (15)

Merkins (15)

Omaha was called and we picked up the cones and slowly mosey’d back to the flags. Upon returning to the flags, we skipped Hammers due to time constraints and went straight into Prayer Requests, Announcements, COT, and name-o-rama.

Prayer Requests and Announcements

  • Prayer requests:  Stripes’ Dad Dale lung cancer and co-worker Mikaela for the sudden and unexpected loss of her husband, Ellenberger family, all those on the bruise cruise dealing with various ailments and injuries including Pitstop, Rowdy, Skids, and all the others not named
  • Announcements:  2nd F event this afternoon, blood drive, Oscar Mike tomorrow, a few others I forgot to put in my notes

COT – Selflessness

My preblast had the picture of Chiefs running back Jerrick McKinnon sliding at the 1 yard-line rather than scoring what would have most likely been the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl this past Sunday. His selfless act forced the Eagles to use their final timeout and allowed the Chiefs to run the clock down to almost zero and kick the game-winning field goal preventing the Eagles from getting the ball back with enough time to score. McKinnon could have gone down in history as one of the few men to ever score what would have mostly likely been the game-winning touchdown in a Super Bowl with under 2 minutes left. Instead, he put his team above himself. I expressed my opinion that being selfless is one of the most noble and admirable qualities I believe there is and how it can be difficult to be selfless because I believe it’s human nature to be selfish and think about our own wants and needs before others’. I urged the PAX to try to think about being more selfless and consciously try to do at least one selfless act every day.

I was reminded by Escobar to do the name-o-rama then closed us out in prayer.

OORAH!
