Location: Northwest Side of Werner Park
PAX: 6 –Amadeus, Echo, Harding, Busser, Duracell, Invictus.
QIC: Invictus
Weather was slightly chilly.
0500 – I got there early to see who might pre run but most PAX were off Smurphing or on their way, so I
decided to finish setting up and look for well lit areas.
0530 – QIC kicked off the morning with the description of F3 – Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith.
Five Core Principles – Free, Open to ALL Men, Always Outside, Lead in a rotating fashion, and Ends in a
Circle of Trust.
Credo – Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.
The Mission of F3 is to Plant, Grow, and Serve small workouts groups for the reinvigoration of male
community leadership.
QIC noted he was not a fitness professional so the PAX should modify the workout as needed.
Mosey to Parking Lot in front of school
Warm-a-rama:
15 SSH IC, 15 Tappy Taps IC.
Pre-Thang: School Parking Lot – Team Disc Golf
Having even numbers is optimal for this game, so we were lucky to split into teams of 3. Team 1 –
Amadeus, Harding, and Duracell. Team 2 – Invictus, Busser, and Echo. The game requires 1 team
member to attempt a putt into the basket and if they make it, they can grab the disc and run back to
their team. If they miss, then they are required to do 3 merkins before grabbing the disc and running
back to there team. The rest of their team is doing the specified exercise. For each round, each team
had to go through twice. The rounds were (1) chillcut plank, (2) mountain climbers, and (3) merkins. First
round looked like a tie while the teams each won a proceeding round to even out the scores. The
putting MVP of the morning was Harding who didn’t waste any time and was the first one to make two
putts.
Thang: Field North of the school – Diamond Anvil
This was a modified/intensified version of the 7 of Diamonds where we started like a normal round of
7D, but we added another exercise at each station for each round.
Round 1: 3 Burpees
Round 2: Add 6 SSH
Round 3: Add 9 Gas Pumpers
Round 4: Add 12 Mountain Climbers
Round 5: Add 15 Air Squats
We got through about Round 5 when I called OMAHA at 0602, so we could gather the cones.
MARY – 15 Flutter Kicks, 15 Box Cutters, 15 Slammers.
NOR – see PAX list above.

COT
I recently came across a video of Jocko Willink giving a speech on leadership. His main point was “Be
careful about being right. It is a double-edged sword and it will often hurt your leadership”. My
takeaway was that we need to be cognizant of the affects of our drive to be “right” and how it affects
our relationships. Are we trying to correct someone or are we trying to show off and show that we are
the best leader for the job? We especially need to exercise this caution in our relationship with our M’s.
Being affective leaders is not about displaying how right we are in any situation; it is about being
affective in creating the desired outcome as a team in any relationship, even if that means stepping back
and letting other people take the reigns for a bit.
