Wednesday Nov 8, 2023 Mt Olympus
Wednesday November 08, 2023 at 0515 hrs sharp we started. It was approx 50° with clear skies.
The workout started with the F3 mission statement — The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.
5 core principles
1. Free of charge
2. Open to all men
3. Always held outdoors
4. Led in a rotating fashion
5. And ends in a circle of trust.
Credo: “Leave no man behind, but leave no man where we found him.”
Safety disclaimer, Q is not a professional, modify as necessary for there is a real risk of injury.
While trying to stall for Duracell who was a minute late YHC got the warm up going. We started with SSH in cadence, then 10 forward and 10 backwards sun gods in cadence. 15 tappy taps. YHC then got the music ready. YHC had received a special request to ruin a song. G String asked that YHC ruin TNT by AC/DC. YHC told the PAX that during the song everyone would step up on their coupon and when the lyrics of TNT came on drop and do T Merkins until the song resumes.
After this short pre thang the group carried their coupons to the west side of the school where 5 stations were set up. Each station had 4 exercises with 25 reps of each. Station 5 was the designated 20 rep blockee station. Luckily there was a perfect 20 PAX so groups were even, except for the group that had 7 and the group of 3. SMH, my Q’s can never have a count that’s correct.
Prayers & Announcements:
Shield of Ares to Purina from Busser
Korver prayers for Rachel & her son Tobin (killed in a vehicle accident recently)
Bobsled, Chad1000x at brickyard
Amadeus coat drive for Siena Francis
Saturday wood chopping event at Splinters 0800-1200
YHC told the group how each station was designed for 100 reps. And that overall each group should’ve reached between 500-600 reps. How that total number is absurd if YHC would’ve started telling every PAX the sheer number we would be completing before we started. But that by taking baby steps and breaking it up it was a totally obtainable goal. And I love that my plan for that number was reached.
“Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.” F.Scott Fitzgerald
This quote made me come up with idea. And that even a small modification or defeat while doing the reps was no reason to quit and definitely not the final defeat. And the group pushed each other forward.
Aye!
