Like many events in my life, it all started with a pun: Let’s do COOP-ons at The COOP! I checked with our friendly neighborhood Site Q, Toad Stool, and was assured that no Q had been bold enough (or stupid enough) to Q a COOP-on beat down at The COOP.
Which brings me to the situation of carrying two COOP-ons down a very steep, slightly snow-dusted hill at The Coop at 5:15am. This will be interesting.
I saw prerunners Vandelay and Honey Maid return and in a few minutes it was time to start. We covered the intro (mission statement; 5 core principles; motto) quickly as the Q was excited to tell the PAX that part of the reason March 10th is international day of awesomeness is because it is Chuck Norris’ birthday!
Which means, of course, Chuck Norris trivia! Correct answers yield 7 Chuck Norris Merkins, while incorrect responses require 7 burpees. But today would be awesome and the Q predicted a perfect 5/5 score… Toad Stool was our first volunteer:

Without hesitation, Toad Stool correctly answered TRUE!

1 PAX Farmer carries two COOP-ons down and back while the rest of the group does AMRAP exercises below until the PAX returns and yells “AWESOME!” Then that PAX leads us in 5 burpees and then we switch to the next exercise:

COT: Everything is Awesome?
Lately I have been reflecting on the progress I have made in the past few years. Much of my bandwidth has been focused on honoring my concentrica. I concluded that I had been doing an AWESOME job. When I shared this with my M, I was surprised to see that she did not completely share in my assessment. In short, I learned that while there are many things on which I have improved, there are many other issues that I had not. It’s not that she hadn’t told me. It’s that I wasn’t listening.
I was a little confused about what to do. So, I did what any person would do: I went to the library. If you were looking for a book about marriage at The Elkhorn Public Library last weekend and couldn’t find any, then please accept my apologies for checking all of them out.
I read Gary Chapman’s book (he’s the 5 love languages guy) “Loving Your Spouse When You Want to Walk Away” The book is full of helpful insights. But it is also full of marriage paradigms that may seem familiar to you. I would encourage you to read it whether you think things with your M are awesome or not so awesome, there’s likely something in the book that will assist you in making your relationship with your M the most important one in your life.
Even though everything may not be awesome with your M, it is awesome that each day is an opportunity to get better.
