QIC: Black Tuesday
4:45 AM Pre-runners included everyone but YHC – Looks like someone is slacking!
5:15 AM:
Black Tuesday welcomed the Pax to F3 – reminding them of the F3 Mission: Plant, Grow and Serve small workout groups of men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
Black Tuesday then recited the 5 core principles of F3. 1) Free of charge 2) Open to all men. 3) Held outdoors, 4) Peer led in a rotating fashion and 5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).
Black Tuesday then informed the group that he is not a professional and to modify as necessary. He recited the creedo – “Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.”
At that time Black Tuesday informed the group that they’d be going for a little cross country mosey, leaving Kitty Country and heading into Bear Country (moseying over to Bryan High). They headed south down to the football field and then went the back way over to Bear Country.
Right out of the gate, a few PAX fell behind as Mother Nature herself rang. (S)Wiper took a detour over to the Cubby’s, for a just in time delivery we were told, and Busser decided Kitty country needed some challengers to it’s ownership – so he marked off a few plots for him to return to in the future.
With the gap between the lead Bears and the 6 growing – the PAX moseyed along the top of the hill to the north side of the school where the group gathered up and the Q gave a little history lesson about William Jennings Bryan, whom the school is named after. William Jennings Bryan was a politician in the late 19th and early 20th century – running for president 3 times, but losing to the republican candidate each time. While he did not come out successful from these, he is still the youngest candidate to receive an electoral vote in history by receiving votes at the age of 36. After his third defeat, he was rewarded by being named secretary of state under Woodrow Wilson.
After the history lesson – Black Tuesday informed the PAX that they would be performing 3 Bryan High Burpees (BHBs), which consists of running down to the bottom of the hill, doing a burpee and running back up. As expected, a few PAX stayed behind to pull Busser away from his conquests in Kitty Country, so they started the BHBs one rep late but still completed in time. At this point – the PAX were starting to wonder if we would ever see (S)Wiper ever again – but the show must go on, so…
From there the PAX moseyed around the service road to a set of stairs on the West side of the high school. The PAX then completed 3 sets of a stair run (down, up) with 20 ‘mericans at the bottom of the stairs. Still no (S)Wiper…must continue on the PAX decided.
So…the journey around bear country continued from there, to the south side of the High School, along Giles road. At this point the PAX completed a set of 15 monkey humpers and 15 Cloey’s. The PAX looked to the east, once again wondering – will we ever see (S)Wiper again? As before – the decision to move on was made.
The journey continued East from this point through the parking lot, with the next stop being the top of the hill adjacent to the football field. As the PAX got to the bottom of the hill you heard “Look at that light, Is that an Angel?”
“No, angel light is white you dummies. That is multicolored – it’s a UFO!”
“Wait a minute – it’s (S)Wiper!!”
(S)Wiper had finally returned from his trip to answer the age-old question about what bears do in the woods (they also do it at Cubby’s it turns out). All that could be seen was a multicolored light bouncing along the hill on the baseball field, which then bound over the fence to rejoin the group. So now we know what the orbs seen in all those UFO videos actually are…
With the 6 back with the group, we continued on adjacent to the football field. It wouldn’t be right to go through bear country without any bear crawls…so the PAX bear crawled through the parking lot, equal to the distance from sideline to sideline.
At this point the group was nearing their exit from Bear country. The group continued over to 42nd street and then turned North to knock out two more beautiful hills along the way, officially crossing back into Kitty country. The group moseyed all the way to Margo street before heading back west to the flags.
With a few minutes to spare, the PAX then completed Mary:
- LBCs, 15 IC
- Marge and Homers, led by (S)Wiper – some number that I’m not sure about, but I know it was burning
- Sarpy Slammers, 11 IC
Name-o-rama occurred immediately after.

COT:
Just like the hills and exercises completed throughout the beatdown described above – life is full of ups and downs, with “hills” inbetween. YHC shared a personal experience about a low experience 2 years ago that occurred during the traumatic birth of a child, and how people surrounding the situation helped YHC make it up the “hill” for that situation.
Just like those individuals did for YHC, make sure that you do the same for others you cross paths with in your daily lives. Your small effort to provide some positive words, add a little humor into a stressful situation, or simply ask how someone is doing can be a huge push for those individuals working their way up the “hill” they’re experiencing at that moment.
Thank you!! BT
