Date: 1/29/24 | Location: Stormbreaker | Start Time: 5:30 AM | Temp: 25
Title: “Detroit”
Total PAX: (6)
Q: G String
PreWalk: G String and Amadeus
At 0530, G String welcomed the PAX to the F3, stating they found themselves at Stormbreaker. G String stated that F3 stands for fitness, followship, and faith. He covered 5 core principles – it’s free, open to all men, always outside, it’s led in a rotating fashion, and it ends in a circle of trust. He told them that we leave no man behind and no man where we found him. G String stated the Mission Statement of F3 – to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. He claimed to not be a professional and asked that PAX modify as necessary. He asked if there were any FNG’s and there were none.
Amadeus reconfirmed that G String was not a professional before the group moseyed to the bridge due east where a short WaR took place.
Warm a Rama:
10 count back stretch along the guardrail (really tested its limits)
10 cherry pickers
10 sun gods
10 slow and deep 3 count squats
10 Big Ones
10 Tappy Taps
G String then had the group mosey over a block to an open street where they found what looked like a tombstone made of plywood. It read ‘DETROIT”. The group took a moment of silence for the Lions and Amadeus.
The beatdown consisted of 20 reps of each with a mode of transportation. After 20 reps and MOT is completed, the PAX would rinse and repeat. After 5 minutes, they would move on to the next letter.
D – Dips and broad jump
E – E to K’s and lunges
T – T Merkins and karaoke
R – Reverse crutches and side lunges
O – One legged burpees and super marios
I – Imperial walkers and reverse lunges
T – thai fighters and bear crawl
It was 0553 and Dozer was mumbling that he had to get to work, so G String called Omaha short of the last round’s 5 minute timer. The group moseyed back to the flag that was about 0.5 miles.

As we were dodging cars because we were in the middle of the street, I tried to maintain focus but hurry it up. I briefly touched on the fact that I felt like I was selfish with my time and screwed up this weekend when my kids asked me to play with them. Rather than agreeing to, I continued to push it off and put my own priorities first. I explained that a child will rarely come home to his or her parents and say “I had a rough day, can we talk?” Instead, they’ll ask for help by saying “Can you play with me?” I reminded the others to not miss opportunities like this and really think about the situation in the moment instead of having regrets. Amadeus made a good point that this correlates to adults too, perhaps someone asking you to lunch or coffee is a cry for help.
G String prayed us out. – Aye!
