I showed up for my VQ at 4:28am for a “Missy Elliott” pre-run.  I continued on for the pre-run, but cut the route short to setup for the day and meet an FNG.

Beat down commenced at 5:30am sharp.  The theme of the day was “back to high school”.  Papio is where I graduated HS, so figured it was a fitting backdrop for my VQ.

I started by reciting the Mission Statement, 5 core principles, and Credo.  I stated I’m not a professional and to modify as needed.  We welcomed the 3 FNGs and one down range, then began the beat down.  The beat down was split up into 7 class “periods” as follows:

1st period: Study Hall

Mosey to front of the school (south lot) for warmama

2nd period: Spanish (count in Spanish…this didn’t last long)

Warmorama

10 Big Ones

Hip flexor stretch

15 cherry pickers

15 raise the roof

8 motivators (single cadence)

3rd period: Algebra

Mosey to northeast parking lot

4th period: Gym

Walking lunges, 20 yards once down / back

5th period: Fun Dip History Test

10 big boys, 10 merkins, 10 air squats. Run a lap around lot (.18 miles). Decrease by 1 rep until down to 0. Equals 55 reps of each

6th period – Mosey back to flags for Hammers

7th period – Namorama

Finished with announcements and prayers.

COT was a challenge to take a look up from your day to day and see if there were areas in your life that could use a little effort for a large gain.  It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day, what can you see around you that is slipping because you’re focused on your checklist, calendar, etc.

Closed for coffee at 6:17am.
