YHC welcomed the PAX to a beautiful December morning at The Woodshed. On rare occasion, YHC will perform the F3 intro in the form of a rap…today was one of those days so the pax were bobbing their heads to the beat of Dr. Dre while YHC Rapped us into Friday morning.

This is F3 – Fitness, Fellowship and Faith. F3 is a national network of free, peer-led workouts for men. Our mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
Core principles:

  1. Are free of charge
  2. Are open to all men
  3. Are held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
  4. Are led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary
  5. End with a Circle of Trust

Disclaimer: The Plague is not a professional – PAX need to modify as necessary.

The Woodshed is one of my favorite sites. It was actually the first Friday AO in F3Omaha so there have been a lot of beatdowns exploring the vast offerings of the AO. Today we were going to do a 12 String of Ornaments beatdown exploring YHC’s favorite areas.

Here is an outline of the route:

PAX moseyed to the Grotto for WaR.

  • SSH 20 IC
  • Dips, Derkins, Jumps – 12 of each

Moseyed to the creepy alleyway for stop 2 and completed 12 Sleigh Ride Squats (Sumo Squats) then up the hill to the parking garage.

Once in the parking garage we completed 12 Bonnie Blairs then sprinted to the end of the garage. From there we went to the Pep Rally Field.

At the Pep Field, PAX partnered up, one partner went the the far end and did AMRAP Hand Release Merkins while the other partner bearcrawled up the hill, 3 burpees, the bernie up hill, 3 burpees, then switch with other partner. Once each partner completed the burpee hill we continued to mosey until we arrived at the clock tower.

At the clock tower we completed 12 Reindeer Kicks, 12 Australian Mountain Climbers, and 12 Chicken Peckers.

Next we moseyed to the field where they do Shakespeare on the Green and did 12 Gingerbread Jacks.

Next we moseyed to the bottom of a hole at the golf course and did 12 Burpees then bearcrawled up the hill.

Omaha was called and PAX moseyed back to the flags and completed a round of American Hammers.

Circle of Trust:

  • YHC had the chance to Q and lead Q-Source this past week on my birthday (12/19) at the Whetstone. The Q-Source topic was Study, which is usually a difficult one to lead. For some reason this time it wasn’t, I had more clarity on what the topic is getting at. It’s really encouraging us to study whatever belief system we put our faith in.
  • In F3, the Third F is often challenging for men. Many of us have been burned by a church or some formal religious organization. Instead of finding something else or going deeper to study what we really believe in, we have a tendency to wander through life in pursuit of being a good person or being nice to other people.
    • In the Q-Source topic on study, Dredd points out that in order to accelerate our Third F (Faith) we need to have a belief system that we’re regularly studying and learning more about in effort to answer the WHAT-WHAT. What happens when we die and What does that mean about the way I live my life today?
    • So why is this so hard for us? Is it because we think we need to have all the answers before we pick up a book and study different belief systems? Is it because we have some previous experience or expectations about what religion and faith look like? What if we simply sought to learn and know more in effort to find out what we believe in and truly accelerate in our faith?
    • Yes…to all of these questions. I think as men we are responsible for believing in a power outside of ourselves, a power greater than ourselves and then learning as much as we can about that higher power and the belief system associated with putting our faith in them.
    • If you’re not doing this or you don’t have a belief system, that’s okay. I would encourage you to start your search now. Don’t let anyone else define what you believe. Go after it the same way you chase physical fitness. Pursue a belief system, accelerate your faith. and remember that faith requires practice if you expect to get better and go deeper.
    • The Q-Source says “Learning leads to doing – doing leads to learning – and learning leads back to learning.”
    • We have to recognize that practice is required in order to accelerate faith, but the lack of pursuit causes our faith to decelerate.
  • So as we approach Christmas, let me share my Christian view on 3 Miracles I see in the Christmas Story
    • God can and does use ordinary people to do extraordinary things
    • God makes the impossible possible
    • God became incarnate (man) to save sinners
  • These miracles are true in the Christmas story and I’ve experienced them first hand in my life. Let everything I do Glorify my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • Thanks for letting me lead – love you brothers!

AYE!
