F3 OMAHA BACKBLAST

Date: 9/15/22 | AO: The Steel Mill | Start Time: 5:30 AM | Temp: 70

Title: IPC Week 2 – Listening

PAX  (9) : Duracell, Crankbait, Shingles, Animal House, Sweet Roll, Mr. Hanky, Chernobyl, Styx

Q: G String

I informed everyone on the preblast that via the Twitter the typical Steel Mill site was relocating to The Pit’s location (football field) and that we’ll be performing the Week 2 IPC rather than a creative G String beatdown.  Luckily, the other proctors were able to gather all the materials needed so my role was miniscule – show up, keep count, and try not to screw up.

Pre Run:

  • Duracell, Chernobyl, and G String

Warm a Rama:

  • I informed the PAX that they should show up early to warm up on their own as the IPC was a good 45 minute workout, leaving no time to spare. As 5:30 approached, PAX were trickling in, dragging their coupons unsure if they were at the right site. I reassured them why they were there, and what we were doing. I ran threw the intro – what F3 stands for, our motto, and our mission statement. I told the PAX that I’m not a professional and I did not plan the workout myself.

The Thang:

  • G String explained the IPC Week 2 – Chernobyl hit start on his watch while Duracell hit play on the beats. The PAX performed well.  Shingles informed us that he was not registered; however, still tried his best. He also admitted that murphing beforehand was probably not a great idea. Crankbait performed the IPC the day prior and had no intention of recording more reps on Day 2. He and Animal House (out for injury) threw reps in here and there to support and encourage the other PAX.  Sweet Roll was on a roll; however, opted out of the workout upon his second round of coupon swings due to back issues.

Omaha – Back to Flags for Mary:

Name-o-Rama (see above list of PAX)

FNG’s (none)

Announcements: Pumpkin Patch gathering this weekend. Halfway House Sept. 25th. Heartland Toy Drive update and impact. Car Wash in Papillion.

Prayer Requests: Injuries (Sweet Roll’s back & Animal House’s foot). Squeaky Clean’s dad undergoing heart surgery today (pacemaker placement). Short Sale MIL head injury.

COT:

I briefly touched on listening with intent and being present. We have busy lives, at home and at work. It’s imperative to the speaker that we listen not just with our ears, but our eyes and body motion. Face the person upon listening, and don’t always fill the air with noise. It’s okay to not relate to every topic of discussion. Just be there – and listen. Furthermore, I encouraged the PAX to try and be present with their activities throughout the day. Time goes too fast, and I want us to not take any moment for granted. Enjoy our children in the NOW and pay attention to your surroundings and all the unnoticed gifts we receive.

We prayed it out and parted. Some PAX then went over to the regular Steel Mill spot (adjacent to the Sandlot) and enjoyed coffee with some other HIM.

Aye!

G String.
