COT – The start to the workout was a little rough, as I did not communicate directions clearly.  This was a beatdown I hadn’t attempted before in a location I hadn’t visited before.  I had to adjust as the workout progressed.  This was an experience similar to my COT message of “failing forward”.   Oftentimes when things become challenging while learning a new skill, we revert back to what we know, or our “A game”.  True skill development means you are willing to sacrifice short-term performance for long term advancement and overall proficiency.  In 2023, I’m going to work on embracing that lack of short-term success in different areas of my life to ultimately become more developed overall.  I want those around me to see, andknow it’s okay to fail when you are learning something new; it’s part of growth.

I hope other PAX on the Q take the opportunity this year to try new things and fail forward, whether it’s in leading beatdowns or honing a new skill.
