Pre-Thang
This workout was a salute to labor – ALL kinds of labor.
I put the PAX to work.
Starting off – we had a salute to the labor of LIFE, having a baby!
21s – 20 LBCs on one end and 1 Pickle Pusher on the other.
Next up: a Labor of Love
2 man grinder – one guy was doing hydraulic squats while the other Bernies away but then comes sprinting back.
The Thang
Then, just a salute to physical labor!
Two Teams::
Had the pile of awkwardly shaped lawnscaping bricks in the middle of the field.
Had both teams send 1 guy at a time. As that person was to grab many bricks as he could, then the rest of the team did exercises on list until push. Exercises are below.
The Golden Pike brick was saved for last. The first team to get the last brick won. Other team did 10 burpees.
Exercises:
- Merkins
- Sumo squats
- Maktar D’Njays
- Bobby Hurleys
- Big boy sit ups
- CDDs
- Cherry Pickers

COT
Labor day makes me think of how we often invest a lot of ourselves into physical labor (which is important). But a lot of us work mental labor jobs. Which means we sit at a desk all day and think of things on a computer. But then we’re tired, so when we get home, the other labor of life just is harder. We need to remember to rest not only our bodies but our minds. And that means not just vegging out but finding places of calm and peace so we can quiet our minds for a while. It will help us deal with people we love a lot better in the end.
