COT: LOVE IT FORWARD
I read a book called “Love It Forward,” by Jeff Brown. The book is a series of short writings about love. One excerpt really described our Circle of Trust and the fellowship that exists in F3. We show up every morning in the gloom, and we often are attracted by the fitness. At first, we believe that we need the physical fitness and the achievement of completing a beatdown. Over time, we realize there is a much bigger achievement – how we connect through men leading the COT.
Jeff Brown wrote a description of love in his book that expresses the connection that occurs during a COT:
“Most of the greatest achievements on the planet are unknown to others – private overcoming, silent attempts at belief, re-opening a shattered heart. The real path of champions truly lies within – the transforming of suffering into expansion, the clearing of horrifying debris, the building of a healthy self-concept without tools. The greatest achievers have found a way to believe in something good despite being traumatized and fractured on life’s battlefields. No matter what else they accomplish in their lives, they are already champions. One day the world will realize that it is much harder to heal a shattered heart than excel in athletics. Go(l)d medals all around…”
This is how the PAX inspire me. What guys accomplish during the beatdown is much less inspiring than how they share their hearts during a COT. Eventually, our bodies will be unable to perform as well during the beatdown, but we can continue to grow our ability to be real and authentic in how we express ourselves and live our lives.
You never know what the guy next to you is going through. We are never alone. Thanks to all the PAX for sharing their hearts during COTs and the fellowship of the gloom.
We ended the workout with a prayer for Oahu’s family and Room Service’s family.
Grace & Peace,
Wait TimeFe
