Mission Forge AO September 19th, 2022 – Perfect weather around 63

Disclaimer/Motto/Core Principles were all addressed and we had 3 FNG’s!  (Brian, Bob & Evan)

18 PAX:  Tax Man, Long Neck, Scoober, Tee Ball, Fine Print, FNG Brian / Silent, but Deadly (SBD), Thomas, Rollbar, Copperfield, FNG Bob / Bulletproof (Respect), Gump, Urkel, FNG Evan / Dovetail, Yogi, Chip N Dale, Sasquash, Ditty, and Smelly Cat

Q: Wentworth

Warm-O-Rama:  I could hear Folsom’s voice in my head when I almost started warm up with SSH’s and then I called an audible and went with 15IC High Knees and then 15IC Butt Kickers.  Next exercises were Tappy Taps, Sun Gods, Windmills, and then some Big One’s

The Thang:  I knew that I wanted to make this a hard workout for the Millard Mojo crew, so I added some sandbag burpees to the 3-man grinder as a troll/toll bridge with 2 burpees every time you crossed from one side to the other.  If the sandbags were being used, just go ahead and do body weight burpees, but challenge yourself with some sandbag burpees if you want the added difficulty.  I received a text last night stating that we were going to have an FNG and he doesn’t like to run, so the question was asked, “would there be a lot of running tomorrow at Mission Forge?”  I had to say no, regardless.    When I showed up and set up the cones and speaker, I wanted to use the soccer field, but the sprinklers were on and the field was soaked from the rain this weekend.  I made the decision to use the parking lot instead and noticed the roughness of the concrete, but I figured we would be fine…

One partner ran between the cones and did 2 sandbag burpees halfway in between the two cones with AMRAP exercises below:

Station 1:  OK, let’s get right into this with Mahktar N’Diayes, mumblechatter ensued right away and some of it was from myself, mountain climbers, T-Merkins, Chilly Jacks (again more mumblechatter from everyone which made me smile and laugh on the inside, “who would do this to the PAX?”), Groiners, and Alternating Shoulder Taps with a Rinse and Repeat until Omaha.  When I ran to the sandbag, I overheard some of the PAX talking about the size difference between the 2 sandbags and I just kind of shrugged my shoulders, huh?  Who knew?  One was 60 #’s and the other 80+#’s

Station 2:  This side had the speaker which was choreographed with the exercises like a dance routine, Pantyhose helped with this as he is the only honest Dance Dad that I know.  Apollo Ono’s, Bobby Hurley’s, Flutter Kicks, CDD’s (one of my favorite exercises in F3), SSH’s (just for Folsom and he wasn’t even here), and then Werkins.  (this side had the ability to use the grass on the island and many PAX were taking advantage of the grass for this exercise and the Flutter Kicks.  (There was still some mumblechatter about the grass going up the nose on the Werkins.  There is no way to please these guys!)

Omaha was called around 6:05 to give time for the 3 FNG’s and Mary.

6MOM:  After perusing the exicon for some new exercises, I found the XY’s and they are 2 count Rosalita’s with a 2 count flutter kick, after I figured out how to count them, we did 10IC, we then grabbed a partner and did 10 push downs where you hold your partners ankles as he sweats into your face when you are on your 6, good times!  We then stayed with the partner and did some old fashioned Big Boy sit-ups when your partner holds your feet down to the ground, and then closed it out with Rancid Style Hammers

Announcements and Prayers:   Lots of announcements and prayer requests this morning.  Some M’s are having some tests and procedures today and this week, so please keep them in your prayers, prayers for our 2.0’s who are struggling with sicknesses and coughing/CSV/croup, additional prayers for men in our group who are dealing with some mental wellness right now.  See 3rdF Slack channel for some opportunities to participate this month with our group.  2nd F activities coming up and a big thanks to Crab Cakes for the tickets to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch as everyone had a great time with their families.

COT: “Leadership is not about being the best. Leadership is about making everyone else better.” I found this quote on Twitter this week and it stuck out to me. I really find this useful and wanted to share it. I know that this has been true with me personally for my family, my career, and when coaching and playing on sports teams. Leaders who are only interested in making themselves look good aren’t good leaders at all and it catches up to them quickly.

Wentworth ended in prayer
