Q: Splinter
YHC pulled into the parking lot about 5:15 to a plethora of vehicles, got out and walked over to the flags. As YHC came to the flags the PAX started to ascending the hill from the field to the flags. Escobar, a true HIM, led the charge this morning, calling on the PAX to show up early and honor the soldiers who paid the ultimate price while serving our country last week. Among them was a Millard South alum. Laps and stairs in silence for the fallen, circling up by the flags, PAX took a knee and each service member was mentioned by name. Escobar, thank you for lining this up, you are a true HIM.
YHC stepped into the circle at 5:30 to welcome 34 PAX and one FNG’s to a beautiful morning. YHC commented “enjoy the process”, Mentioned what F3 is all about along and had the PAX call out the 5 core principles. YHC did remind PAX that Splinter was not a professional and to modify exercises as needed.
Warm-A-Rama
PAX moseyed down to the center of the field for warm-a-rama
- SSH – 10 – IC
- Sun squats – 10 – IC (you know sun gods while doing a squat)
- Sun Lunges – 20 – 10 each leg on down (again yes do sun gods while doing a lunge)
- Tappy-taps – 10 – IC
The Thang
PAX were informed that we would be doing a burpee mile this morning, silence… YHC tried to give a quick pep talk that we are all on a journey and we are all at different points on our journey so par up with someone that will get the most out of you. PAX were separated into runners and Clydesdales and then a runner was paired with a Clydesdale. One of the PAX would run a lap while the other did broad jump burpees until the other HIM returned and then they would switch. Each was to complete four laps (1 mile) and pickup the six until all of the PAX members were accounted for.
YHC called Omaha and we set off for a quick mosey back to the shovel flag. Mumble chatter was heard about already having run a mile and something about “let’s run up a hill to the flags…something, something, why doesn’t he just have us bear crawl up the hill to the flags…” YHC was nearby and called off the Omaha, yelled for the PAX return to the goal line. YHC mentioned that someone was asking for a bear crawl and as we are a peer led group YHC was not going to deny anyone the chance of leading. Bear crawl out 10 yards and then Crawl Bear back 10 yards to the goal line. Omaha was called for a second time and more mumble chatter was heard about “nobody better say anything” threats ensued and YHC was pleased by the banter. Back to the flags.

Welcome and naming of Evan Peterson “Holy Hammer” our FNG
Circle of Trust:
YHC was short this morning. We are only gifted a short time on this earth. Each of us has goals, things we want out of life, things we want our lives to stand for. YHC charged the PAX to not miss the process in working toward the goals we have set. The end goal is not always what is important, most of the time, the process and the people we are surrounded by are the important part and we miss that. Men of F3 don’t miss the process, put a load on your shoulders, carry that weight and enjoy every step of it with those who surround you. There is a saying out there that a rig with a heavy load pulls straighter than one without, man is the same. Enjoy the road men and do it with a heavy load.
