I arrived at Paradise Island grateful for the opportunity to lead a different group of PAX than I am normally used to attending beatdowns with and set this goal earlier in the year to expand out more to see all F3 Omaha has to offer.  I was greeted by several of the prerunners and other PAX.  At 5:15 sharp, I recited the F3 Core principles, Mission statement, Motto, and Credo, as well as exercise disclaimer.  We had no FNGs.

Warm-o-rama:  In Khakis fashion and because my goal was to complete a 3 mile run as part of the beatdown, we completed 5 SSH in cadence and this concluded WOR.

The Thang:  The PAX followed me onto the Papio trail just south of Wheatfields at which point we elected to travel north toward W Dodge.  Mumblechatter was great and spent part of my time catching up with Honey Stinger as well as chasing Wait Time.  We first stopped near the I-680 bridge and various PAX led us in 20 Merkins, 20 Frozen Freddies, and 20 Air Squats.  We had a group of 3 trailing behind on the bruiser trail, so we were sure to incorporate them after our turnaround point.  We continued on the trail to the north and stopped for a second time by Lamp Park.  There, we completed 20 dry docks, 20 LBCs IC< and 20 Alternating lunges.  From there, we kept running north and made it to the Charles Schwab building, but the watch alarm went off as a good turnaround point and we didn’t quite make our goal of 3 miles even.  Therefore, we did 10 burpees to celebrate our ½ way point.  We kept running back to the south and again stopped at Lamp, picking up the 6 and they joined us in 20 alligator merkins, 20 Rosalitas, and 20 monkey humpers IC.  From there, we ran all the way back to the flags and then turned around to pick up the 6.  We had time to complete 5 burpees at the flags, followed by 20 flutter kicks IC and 20 E2Ks before the group finished off with rancid style American Hammers.

Prayers/Announcements:  Brick Builder is this Saturday, supporting Nugent and scholarships for deserving youth—come join in with a team, form your own, or just come out and support/volunteer (reach out to Sparty or slack for more info).  Heartland Hope volunteer opportunity 6/24, contact Vandelay or sign up is on slack.  6/1 fitness challenge of 10k merkins (333 per day, supposed to be outside of F3 workouts).  Continued prayers for Oahu who took his life—prayers for his family as well as Rooster who is presiding over the service.  Encourage your F3 brothers and others around you to talk/share and reach out to those you haven’t seen as they may be struggling.  Prayers for ex GF of Tight Lip (Angela), who is battling cancer.  Continued prayers for Pete Steffensmeier and also for the Gradoville family this weekend

Circle of Trust:  I came across a recent journal writing from Sherri Coale, who is a retired women’s basketball coach who was at Oklahoma until 2021.  She shared a story when she first took the job and how overwhelmed she was with her players, their demands and all of the things she had to do for them.  She called Geno Auriemma to vent and get his advice.  He listened, then asked her “Do you know what your job is?”.  She met his question with silence and he filled her in.  “Your job is to be whatever they need you to be.  If they need a cheerleader, then be a cheerleader.  If they need an instructor, then be an instructor.  If they need a disciplinarian, then be a disciplinarian.  This isn’t about you, it’s about them”.  That job (and many others that we face daily), require a similar mindset and we can easily get caught up in what we need, not what those around us need.  YHC asked that we have the presence of mind and grace to serve those around us with a similar mindset and be what others need us to be, which can change minute by minute, day by day.  That is being of service to others.  YHC led us out in prayer.
