AO – Paradise Island

Temp 25 degrees; no wind

Q: Stella

17 PAX:  Khakis, Vandelay, Slow Pitch, Tight Lip, Gunner, Tom Tom, Oompa, Penny Marsha, Davinci, Mayday, Hindsight, Breakroom, Skipper, Tater Tot, Invictus, Samples, Stella.

5:15 AM:  YHC Welcome the PAX, went over Mission Statement, Core Principals and disclaimer.  YHC, along with, 6-7 other attended the pre-run, so most of us showed up around 5:11, with a few minutes to spare.   YHC promised no burpees today and delivered.

We ran the “traditional” route to the apartment parking lot, around the lake to the parking lot, the Old Paradise site, bottom of the Regency Hill, top to of the hill, back down and to the shovel flags.   At each stop, we did 3 rounds of 20 exercises, with the middle one being 20 SSH each time.  The intent of this was to keep the heart rate elevated.  The first exercise was chest or arms and the last was core.

Apartment Parking Lot:  20 Mountain Climbers, 20 SSH, and 20 Freddy

Lake Parking Lot:  20 Merkins, 20 SSH, and 20 Box Cutters

Paradise Island: 20 Carolina Dry Docks, 20 SSH and 20

Base of hill:  20 Imperial Walkers, 20 SSH and 20 Low Dolly

Top of hill: 20 Bobby Hurelys, 20 SSH, and 20 Flutter Kicks

Bottom of hill: 20 merkins, 20 SSH and 20 Scissor Kicks

We than ran down Regency Parkway to the Shovel Flags.  We arrived around 5:56 and did a quick round of American Hammers.  We then did Name-A-Rama – no FNGs today.  Announcements – still need volunteers for upcoming event – see Vandelay.  Prayers mentioned and noted.  Sadly, although we had mumblechatter, YHC did not hear any That’s What She Said’s this morning.

Today’s COT was based in part from the COT that Swiper gave almost 1 year ago at Paradise on December 14, 2022.  The title was “Surround Yourselves With Greatness and you will be Great”.   Around this time, there were some issues at work that I needed to address.  To start the dialogue, I needed to send an email that may not be well received.  Something that Swiper said motivated me and gave me the courage to send an email later that morning.  I remember texting the M about it and said something along the lines of, “I’m either going to get fired or a promotion”.  She was supportive and this had been weighing on me for a long time.  In the end, it all worked out and I am glad to have addresses the matters at hand.  I would encourage everyone to get out of the status quo and have the difficult or hard conversations that you need to have – whether at work, home, or elsewhere.  Closed in Prayer.

Aye,

Stella
