62 Degrees clear skies perfect labor day weekend workout.  

Pre-Run:  Gator, Vandalay, bubbles, cheap seats, slow pitch, blades of glory

 21 PAX:  Nailed it, Grills, Star Kiss, Tuna Fish, 2 step, Bubbles, Gator, Merch, Water boy, Vandala, Cheapseats, Superfly, Dash, Ketchup, Room Service, da Vinci, Slow Pitch, Hoser,  FNG Steven Heywood (sp) “Spatula”, good life (w/13 lb vest honoring the fallen), Blades of Glory

Blades welcomed 21 PAX to the 2nd week back at Boys Town. 5 Core Principles, no mission statement, over emphasized the disclaimer.

Warm-A-Rama:

Side Straddle Hop – 15 IC

Imperial Walkers-15 IC

Tappy Tap – 10 IC

Big One – 10 IC

Pre-Thang #1:  took a stroll to the field house where we found a wall.  After Blades realized they couldn’t read his mind he explained to them that you need to be close enough to pass a coupon to another pax.   Started passing one coupon at one end of the wall and then started passing one at the other end.  Leaving the intersection of the 2 coupons tricky but were able to avoid a couponokolips (new word i made up).  After it looked like the pax was board and like wtf (why the face).  Blades moved on to 50 Second count Balls to wall. Rest Then another 30 seconds.  Blades leaped out of tradition and tried to make something new Donkin’s (Donkey Kick w/ a Merkin)  Blades explained.  Donkey kick up to the wall on “Up” then on “Down” did a Derkin.  We did 5 due to Blades not being able to keep going. 

Pre-Thang #2:  Headed to the Football Field with the track around it.  Lined up at Goal line and did the following together.  All were together except Burpees.

0  Goal Line:  Big Jump (Leap Frog is the correct name) to the

10 yard line.  10  Burpees, Lungee to the 

20 yard line, 20 Merkins, Dutch Skate, (Blades tried to show them it looks like speed skater but when we did it it looked nothing like what Blades  imagined in his head)

30 yard line, 30 Air Squats, Bear Crawl to 

40 yard line, 40 big boy sit ups  Crab walk to the 

50 yard line. (Cherry Pickers IC)  Then Back. Crab walk

40 Yard line  40 big boy sit ups Bear Crawl

30 yard line , 30 Air squats, Dutch Skate to

20 yard line 20 Merkins Lungees

10 yard Line  Burpees: then Bear crawl again (ment to do Leaps)

0 Goal line with your 5 count Victory Touch down.  

The Thang:  Found the exit on the football field and headed over to the lake where we found a hill.  There Blades realized they did not pick up the gift of reading his mind so explained.  Counted off in 3 groups.  Group 1 Station at the HIll, Group 2 down by the lake and Group 3 on the other side of the street where there was a slight hill to make some of the work out easier if you used the hill.  

3 Stations:  

1 St station at the HIll.  

5 sit ups at the bottom

Run to the top

5 Burpees

Rinse and repeat

Station 2: :  10 Walking Lunges, 20 carolina Dry Docks, 20 Bob Hurley, 10 Jump Squat, (RINSE AND REPEAT)

Station 3:  25 Merkins, air squats, Burpees, V-UP (Big boy Sit ups)  Push Group to station 1.  

Only got 1 round it before called Omaha.

 Noteworthy points & news.  There were lots of Big boy sit ups, goose poop is a thing, keep it stuipid easy or Hoser easy for Candians.  An hour workout is longer then 45 min.  Plan accordingly.  

Started to head back to the flags but about half way we stopped in the “Van parking lot” to do the Mary.

Marry:

20 x-Cross Sit up (Slow IC (Slow)))

Plank – 2 x 10 count

Side Plan (10 Count)

Side plank Tuck in (10 IC)

Flip Do other Side (10 IC)

Ran back to the flags, There we finished off with the good old.

Soundtracks:  What soundtracks do you hear in your head.  What goes through your mind when you think or possibly over think.  Blades just finished ‘Soundtrack” by Jon Acuff (https://acuff.me/)  and also in a mastermind group called, “What to say when you talk to yourself”.   And we all do it, we all have thought, over thinking, and sometimes negative soundtracks going.  Blades committed for September to look in the mirror each morning and evening and do “the New Anthem” that Jon Acuff provided as a guide to start a better mindset, renewing of the mind, Transformation, learning my true identity.  However you want to put it.   

I can come to f3 be surrounded by great group of guys but when I leave this group I still have some of those negative thoughts going on so if I can do a 45 min work out and a 30 min pre-run I owe it to myself to change my thinking and if it takes 2 min in the morning and 2 min at night I am always wanting to create the best version of myself and thankful for #f3Omaha community to help me along the way.
