PAX: 41… see name o rama 🙂
QIC: Stranglehold & Korver
The morning started early with an 4:15 pre-run invitation from my buddy Farva. I joined him and Razzle Dazzle. I ran about a half mile with the 4:45 prerun group, circled back to set up the beat down. There was no plan to use the football field, but Q-Tip was looking to do some track rucking and I was more than happy to see him and unlock the gate. It was a windy morning. Surely the workout sheets I set under the cones wouldn’t blow away. I headed back to the flags around 5:00. Korver was there and we exchanged a hug. Very cool to see Stripes and Speed Bump too… they don’t exactly live down the street from Bellevue West. Promptly at 5:15 Korver got this thing rolling. We reviewed the core principals, mission, credo and disclaimer.
The PRETHANG:
Korver was in charge. He took us to circle east of the football field.
• Sun Gods
• Big Ones
• Cherry Pickers
• Motivators… 7 count! Korver was kind enough to let me lead those.
• Duck Duck Goose (while doing Derkins)
The THANG – StrangleHOLD & KORE-ver:
My Turn. We went to the south east end of the parking lot. This was a 3 man grinder. Cones were set up at the base of 3 small hills/practice fields where there were a series of “holding” exercises (static lung, plank, etc)… and yeah the workout sheets for those blew away. There was a cone in the middle (each time you passed this you had to complete a burpee). There were cones on the far side of the practice fields with core AMRAP exercises. Mumble chatter was surging. Omaha was called at 5:50 and we moseyed back to the flags for some Mary. One round of Sarpy Slammers.
Announcements:

Circle of Trust:
I told the group that leading up to the flag pass I was thinking about all the people who I should thank. Girl Dad who first planted the flag at Bell Tower, Levy who EH’d me, Sparty who really introduced me (and Sweet Sweet) to F3, the Bell Tower regulars. Coincidentally that same morning… at 2:15 am, my 11 month old decided to wake up. At that moment I realized how much I owed to my wife for letting me share my time in the gloom. I missed one Friday the whole year. And that was Mortimer weekend. My favorite part of leading the site was making coffee each week. On site coffeeteria is next level stuff! I was very happy to be passing the flag to my good friend Korver. I have known him for a long time, not just through F3. He is a Bellevue West alumnus, hall of famer and has such a large footprint in Bellevue. I can’t wait to see this site excel under his leadership. I sincerely do appreciate everyone who lead a Q or simply attended a Bell Tower workout this past year. It was an honor, and I had a hell of a good time leading the site. I am going to miss planting the Bell Tower flag when I attend workouts, but its without a doubt in good hands. SYITG!
Aye! Stranglehold
