PAX: Good Lookin, Hipster (Respect X3), Doll Face (Respect), Gunner (Respect), Polaroid, Othello, U-Haul, Rocket

QIC: Rocket

Rocket’s car thermometer read negative six degrees as he recalled that F3’s “always outside” principle was conveniently created by men from North Carolina. He swung into the open-air UNO parking garage (it’s outside enough!) and found Gunner, Polaroid, and Hipster waiting for him.

Doll Face, U-Haul, and Othello soon appeared from a pre-ruck/run and Good Lookin’ arrived just in time for the mission statement, credo, and five core principles. Reminding the PAX that he wasn’t an exercise professional, Rocket led them through a much-needed warm-a-rama.

Warm-O-Rama:  Rocket counted 15 Side Straddle Hops as Hipster did 15 Hipsters. PAX proceeded to a set of Seal Claps followed by Tappy Taps, Big Ones, and a round of Goofballs. Needing to move, Rocket led a mosey to the corner of the garage.

Pre-Thang:  PAX circled up for a Four Corners beatdown. Stay together and do an exercise in one corner of the garage and then run as a group to the next corner …

First Corner: 25 in cadence LBCs.

Second Corner: 25 Merkins.

Third Corner: 25 Air Squats.

Fourth Corner: 5 Burpees.

Fifth Corner: Glad you’re still reading this.

The Thang:  PAX partnered up for a two-man grinder. Partner 1 did AMRAP upper body (Seal Claps, Raise the Roofs, Cherry Pickers, etc) while Partner 2 ran about thirty yards and knocked out 20 Bobby Hurleys before running back to relieve Partner 1. Repeat until Omaha.

Mary: Gathering near their assembled cars, Rocket led the PAX in 25 Gas Pumpers, 25 Low Dollies and ended with two rounds of Rancid-style Hammers.

Announcements: Sign up for the January 27th CSAUP at Gretna East High School.

Prayers: Othello’s co-teacher. People undergoing surgery and medical treatment. Folks who need a warm place in the cold weather.

COT:  Rocket reminded the PAX that you can do anything you put your mind to, but it’s easier to accomplish your goals with a group alongside you. Anyone can get up at 5 a.m. to workout in a polar vortex. But you’re more likely to do it when you’re part of a group of guys cheering each other on. Keep working toward your goals and help each other along.

Rocket closed in prayer.
