8/9/22 Cornhusker – Willing to be changed

AO- Cornhusker at Stinson Park

Q- Slow Pitch

16 PAX: Othello, Doll Face (Respect), Polaroid, TC ( Respect), UHaul, Blackjack, Spreadsheet, Sandy Cheeks, Stapler, Hooah (Respect), Sticky Bandit, Frosty (Respect), Stitches, Beeps, Demogorgon, Slow Pitch

How the Gloom got started: The Q got there a little early to set up and there was a singled-out Pax stretching, which happened to Sticky Bandit. This came as a huge bonus for the Q, as Sticky is visiting from out of town, but the two of them had shared some special mornings in the past.  Sticky helped the Q by walking next to him, while he put out cones for the workout. On the second lap around the park, another Pax, TC (Respect) came wandering around, asking if there was an unlocked porta-potty. Not certain if there was an answer, however TC joined the other two for a couple laps. The three of them didn’t solve any of the world problems.

Mission Statement and Principles of F3: Free of Charge, Open to all men, held outdoors, led in a rotating fashion and it ends in a COT

Quick prayer before we start to think about: I pray that I may be willing to be changed.

Mosey:

The PAX was instructed to mosey one lap around the park together and come back to the swing set area. Slow Pitch didn’t have a Warmarama planned, so he had the pax do Rancid style “hit its.” Heartbeat got elevated for a minute or two.

Today’s workout will be “High Fives!” There are 30 cones lined up around the park and the Pax is to do 5 reps of the listed exercise at each cone. If they knew how many cones there were and basic arithmetic, one can figure out there are going to be 150 reps of each exercise. They didn’t know how many cones there were, but the Q had grabbed everyone that he had in the back of his car, so it remained a mystery of repetitions.

Exercises are below:

Merkins

Groiners

Bobby Hurleys

E2K – Alternate

Monkey Humpers

SSH – IC

Big Boys

Squat Jumps

Beeps got the furthest and may have completed the Monkey Humpers. If everyone was honest with themselves, we’d all say he was the only one pushing himself to exhaustion, while there were a few of us that might not have broken a sweat.

Mosey to swing set for Mary: Freddie Mercury Rancid Style

Prayers: Polaroid’s M’s Grandfather Jack

COT:

Had a lot of my life’s events gone well, I wouldn’t be here this morning.

Had I not become an alcoholic and drug addict, I may have never built a relationship with God, found a wife or had a family. All were from the outcome of me getting sober. Had I not gotten very overweight, maybe I wouldn’t have become miserable enough with my appearance to want to exercise. If I hadn’t ruined a holiday and threatened my wife’s family members, I might not have cried for another change.

Had times in my life had gone as I had wished, at that time, I wouldn’t be here, with you guys in F3.

I am still learning that I can have, what is feel is a negative life’s experiences and have it become a wonderful moment to change positively.  This only happens as long as I ask for help from God and others.

I am truly grateful that I have you men to help me today, but also I am grateful for all of those events that didn’t go we’ll throughout my life.

Thank you for being in my life and in the lives of the men around you.

Prayer: Stitches
