YHC welcomed a surprisingly large number of PAX to the Gloom on this beautiful Friday, shared the standard welcome, mission, and core principles and a disclaimer, and quickly led the PAX away from the comfortable confines of Burke’s lovely turf. A mobile Warm-o-Rama was our first order of business.
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey from Shovel flags, to school stairs
Side Straddle Hop x20IC
Tappy-taps x15IC
Mosey to Parking lot
Cherry Pickers X20IC

Pre-Thang: Hill work
Doing each round as a group, we planked for the 6 in between rounds.
Explosive lunges up the hill, 20 Tugboat Squats, Reverse Lunge down hill
Bear Crawl up hill, 20 Merkins, Crawl Bear down hill
Sprint up hill, 20 Monkey Humpers, Bernie Sanders down hill
After we completed these 3 rounds together we shifted to 2 PAX grinder style work. The PAX paired off and worked together to attack the hill over and over again! (In retrospect, the pre-thang did not eat up as much time as YHC expected, so the grinder was brutally long.)
The Thang: Hill Grinder
Pair up Partner 1 at bottom AMRAPS:
T-Merkins
Big Boys
Tugboat Squats
Groiners
Pickle Pushers
Partner 2: run up hill, 10 Burpees, Bernie sprint down
While YHC was slightly disappointed to not get cursed at during the Grinder (I feel I’ve done my job if I catch an F-bomb or two) there were plenty of hate sent my way, so I still feel pretty satisfied that I gave the PAX a proper beatdown. The skies were ablaze as the sun rose over the PAX and YHC exhorted them all to pause and soak it in.

After much begging by some of the PAX YHC gave Mother Goose the go-ahead to call Omaha, and we made the mosey back to the Shovel Flags for 6 Minutes of Mary.
6MOM

COT
“And men go abroad to admire the heights of mountains, the mighty waves of the sea, the broad tides of rivers, the compass of the ocean, and the circuits of the stars, yet pass over the mystery of themselves without a thought.”
St. Augustine of Hippo
We often wonder at the amazing features of nature. From mountains, to valleys, the beauty of a sunrise or the vastness of the ocean.
How often do you focus on the wonder of YOU. You are uniquely gifted, and given an inclination towards certain people and things. You were created for a reason. You are created to be a HIM, go forward and BE a man of impact, today and every day.
YHC closed with another quote, one that was shared in a recent leadership call I have been taking part in: “We need […] to unlearn the idea that our Mission is primarily to keep busy doing something (here on Earth), and learn instead that our Mission is first of all to keep busy being something (here on Earth).” Richard Nelson Bolles “How to Find Your Mission in Life”
Get busy BEING something.
Be Blessed,
