The Thang – F3 Polish Horseshoes

Scoober did a 1-2 count off and split the team into two teams. 

Scoober explained the game. 

Everyone will start with AMRAP sun gods IC until the runner gets back and makes their throw. 

One at a time,  a pax member runs out, gets a disc and comes back to the center poles. They

Tells their team the card number which corresponds to an exercise and then takes a shot at hitting the pole. If they hit the pole they put the disc in the canjam “bucket” if they dont they put the disc at the base of the pole. (hitting bucket is no points,  just like a too low throw doesn’t count in polish horseshoes.)

After their shot,  the team does 38 reps of the single count exercise,  when done, the next runner goes to get a disc,  while getting the disc, the rest of team AMRAPs the IC exercise until the runner gets back and makes their throw. \

At the end, the winning team gets to do 10 burpees with both legs, while the losing team has to do 10 single leg burpees. 

Scoober counted his teams score which was 98 including the 5 points from the one disc in the bucket (so many close ones), the other team had five discs in the bucket at the end of the game for 25 bonus points.  Scoober stopped counting the other teams’ scores once he got higher than 98.

Last week,  my wife decided that the whole family should go outside and try to get some yard work done…. At 4:45.  I knew this was a risky proposition because we had not had dinner yet and I get really irritable when I’m Hangry. As expected,  by the time I decided I needed to get teh kids fed,  I went inside with them at about 6:30 so I could start making dinner.  I asked my older daughter if she would go shower now while I made dinner to save time after dinner. She said she didnt want to, and I went full “Fine,  do whatever you want, not like I’m your dad or anything” on her.  Very mature right?  Anyways, the girls didnt like that obviously and they went outside to talk to mom who was finishing up some yard work before coming in. My wife came in and reminded me that I’d already screwed up (I know) but that I should not make the situation worse. I was disarmed,  I immediately found Hazel and apologized for my tone and tried to repair the bond.  

So, Do your best to Identify opportunities where you’re impact could make a situation worse and then do your best to not make it worse.
